The Lexington County Peach Festival will be held on Saturday July 3rd, 2004 in Gilbert.

Hope everyone is planning on coming out and enjoying some peach ice cream, the parade, and all the crafts the Festival has to offer.

It takes alot to come onto a site like this and bash small towns. What are you 12.

The Lexington County Peach Festival is a time for friends and Family to join in on some clean, family oriented fun. There are plenty of rides and games for the kids and plenty of craft and other merchandise booths for the adults. And on top of that, you can get peaches in many different ways, wiether it be peach ice cream, peach ice tea, peach sundaes.

Again, I hope everyone gets a chance to come out to Gilbert and enjoy the festival. :D

Why build a new jail just fence in Rolling Meadows and put up Guard Towers. The isn't any reason to make the inmates move.

What kind of executive management experience does Harrison or Brazelle have? ANSWER: NONE.

Did anyone check out the State News Editorial Page today (Saturday)? It seems that after interviewing the three candidates, looking at their accomplishments, and their shortcomings, the editorial board and The State Newspaper endorsed Sheriff Metts. Check it out for yourself.

I believe the title is:

"METTS BEST GOP CHOICE TO SERVE AS LEXINGTON SHERIFF".

tick...tick...tock

"We need him"?????

For things like this:

Lexington sheriff apologizes for comments
LEXINGTON--Lexington County Sheriff James Metts has apologized for a dispute with Batesburg-Leesville officials three months ago.

Metts issued a statement Thursday saying he was sorry for comments made during a meeting with three town officials April 8.

Sheriff's spokesman John Allard says Metts will not elaborate.

Metts made a lewd gesture and cursed, according to a report town police sent to Wiszowaty, a longtime friend.

It was the second time in a year Metts apologized for remarks about the town of 5,500. He apologized in ads last summer to anyone offended for his calling the town dying, inhospitable and a place many residents flee.

Another 4 years of Metts and will have a 120% increase in the sheriff's department budget!!!

Once again, accusations.

The Sheriff has admitted to making an arrogant remark to the Batesburg City Manager and has apologized for it (as far as the lewd gesture, there is no corroboration and Metts denies it). I am sure we all make comments we regret. The Sheriff has always been known to speak his mind -- and admittingly it sometimes gets him in trouble.

However, lets compare comments we regret to having sex with a coworkers wife on-duty. I can quote the newspaper article which outlined the fact that Harrison was fired from the sheriff's department because of an affair he was having with a coworkers wife while on-duty. Now you can say that the newspaper was incorrect, but I would point you to the wrongful termination lawsuit filed by Harrison which is a public record. Of course, once Harrison took a look at the evidence against him, he dropped the lawsuit. Once again, public record.

I think the State Newspaper summed it up on Saturday when they endorsed Sheriff Metts. The last line referred to Metts and read "He is easily the best qualified in this field".

In reference to the scholarship: You see, the Harrison supporters are actually hurting themselves. There are many citizens who actually value higher education. Higher education in the criminal justice field is what produces law enforcement MANAGERS. Of course, both Harrison and Brazelle have niether earned a college degree nor have any executive management experience. You often need one or the other to run a multi-million dollar law enforcement agecny.

My uncle attended the golf tornanment, which was run by private businesses in the community. This was not done on taxpayer time nor with taxpayer money. What it did do was fund four scholarships for Lexington County kids to attend college. If you are a parent (which you are probably not) you would understand the cost of four years of college and you would appreciate yet another service done by our Sheriff for Lexington County.

I will continue to vote for the Sheriff as long as he continues to run for the office.

Sandpit Mobile Home Park may have a Leesville address, but it is in the Gilbert School District. I don't have the statistics to prove it, but I heard once that the Gilbert Zip Code area has the highest number of people living in mobile homes than any other Zip Code is South Carolina.

You must have read a stat written by someone living in Gaston. After driving around the greater Gaston area I think they have a building code against stick/brick built homes and that they have to be mobile.

Oh and one more thing City Slicker, From Juniper Springs to Pond Branch on Two Notch is not a park, its a residental area that happens to have a few more mobile homes than site built homes, but some mobile homes are better than site built homes.
