During my several years of Law Enforcement I have seen many things but what you are going to see today beats them all. It amazes and frustrates me how political figures will use public servants, this time Law Enforcement, to use their powers to stage media events. Today the Midlands will get such a show. Sheriff Metts and the local Police Chiefs have come to an agreement for the Sheriff's Department to run the Cayce jail for a trial four month period. Metts has scheduled a news conference today to demostrate his willingness to cooperate and help the cities; however, it is the behind the scene happenings that irritate me.

Yesterday a squad of County inmates came into the Cayce jail and cleaned and manicured the facility. This doesn't bother me except the next thing Law Enforcement Officers were told to do is "fill up" the jail before the media gets there and if that isn't possible then inmates will be brought in from the County Detention Center to make it "look good".

If you want to see who is misusing their power and taxpayer's dollars....just tune in at 6! It's a disgrace.

That is the most insane thing I have heard. What purpose does this serve and if the media happens by in the next couple of days AFTER the dog and pony show.. Will the inmates still be in the masses?

I hope our Police Chiefs are not going to get tangle up in Metts political mischief!

 That is really a sad thing to have happen. Metts is making a publicity stunt by trying to do a "feel good" thing for Cayce and acting like he is helping them out. When in REALITY... : -) It is a ploy to put face time on television (because we really don't recall what he looks like).

The sad thing is the people who are left holding down the fort after he packs up his inmates, returns them to LCSD Detention Center and things revert right back to the way they were.

Hopefully the media will not feed into his ploy. I would love for them to go by Cayce at midnight tonight or tomorrow and see just how many of those inmates are sitting in that clean jail cell...

3rd Shift.. You have your hands full. Unfortunately, Metts will take every opportunity to use and abuse his power until he gets his way. That's just how the "G#$ Da$n Sheriff" of Lexington County does things..
