Sorry, I don't have any information on Gingerbread House Day Care, but you asked about references for any day cares. I can tell you I would recommend Ms. Jackie's Total Child Care by the airport. My son was there for 8 years and I think Ms. Jackie is wonderful with the children.

My son went to Sunshine House on Leaphart rd. in west cola and seemed to really like it. He was 4 and had a very nice teacher. It wasn't too bad as far as price and always seemed clean.

I went to that daycare myself, oh about 28 years ago. It was ok.

Sorry, but I cannot offer any suggestions for a good daycare in the cayce area. There are many resources that can help you make an educated daycare choice.
Before we moved, my child attended the Sunshine house, the facility was clean and the teachers were caring and patient. The Daycare chains IE: The Sunshine House, Children’s World, and Windsor. . Etc. for some reason seem (to me) to meet higher standards.
There is one daycare facility that I would definitely avoid. That’s Love & Laughter on Lephart Road. When we enrolled our child; the owner seemed outwardly very caring, loving and religious. I quickly learned that she suffers from the Dr. Jeckel / Mr. Hyde syndrome. Long story short, we reported her (actions toward our child) to DSS and our complaint was founded. Not only that, she Lied to the DSS investigator.
If you search the Internet there is a wealth of information about childcare in our area. You may want to start with the link below.
I hope this helps

What sort of problems did you have at Love & Laughter? I know that i went to check out the daycare since it's close to my job and the woman in the nursery just let me walk right in. She then looked at me and said " Honey, can you put that pacifier back in his mouth." I was apalled that she didn't know who I was but allowed me to go near that small child. I quickly decided that they were not for me.

As for other daycares, Covenant Christian Academy off of Platt Springs didn't strap my friend's 4 month child in the high chair and she fell head first onto the concrete floor. A week later, my friend stopped to do a spot check and her child was once again not strapped into her high chair.

I have never had a child go to this particular daycare, but I have heard nothing but bad things about them. I do know a wonderful lady in the Gaston/Swansea area if that will help; let me know and I can get you the phone # and address. This lady is wonderful! My child has been with her for almost a year and he is wonderfully happy.

My child is at the age where he *thinks* he knows everything, so of course he’s developing a bit of a smart mouth ( not cursing or anything of that nature, but his favorite word is now " Whatever" ). He said something she didn’t like and she forced him to spit into a paper towel until he literally got started gagging. To add insult to injury, this took place right in the common area by the front door.

I hope this helps... BTW, I didnt like the door issue either. There was once a female ( looked to be a crack head) trying to jump into cars at that daycare and the door was still left unsecured.

Personally I do not have children that go to daycare, but I have several friends that do. When ever I go to the different daycare facilities to pick them up I take notice. Of all of the day cares that I have visited I like Grace Christian School/Day care the best. It is located in West Columbia. It has always been very clean, and the staff is WONDERFUL!! You might want to check it out
