If you had a brain, you would have gone to school and received a decent education so you would not be in the shape you are in now. Hey Guest 600, I'd be interested to know what kind of job you have. Is it one that saves lives in public safety or one that makes laws and enforces them...or maybe one that sits at a desk and deals with the public and there many problems/issues such as buisness and building permits. Or are you one of those people who has the official job of being better than everyone else? This website is a place for Lexington County employees and residents to "vent" about things going on in the county, their communities AND their jobs. If you think we are just whining about our "miserable lives" maybe you should stay off of this site! Many of us DID go to school to get an education and many of us enjoy and love our jobs. Ask the next police officer that gets shot on duty, or the next paramedic or emt that suffers a bite and black eye from the combative patient, or judge that gets a death threat on his family, or even the next secretary that answers the phone when you call with what I'm sure will be a stupid question for the county....ask them if they love their job or if they worked hard to get where they are today. If you think these jobs that keep this county running are so lame and easy to do then I challenge you to be a police officer, paramedic/emt, judge or even that secretary for just one week. I'd put money down that any of these jobs would kick your *$$ in a real quick minute!

Actually, "Big Dog" I didn't fail the paramedic test. Haven't even been in the class. Passed the EMT National Resistry test and the state test both with flying colors. Why is it that anytime someone has a different opinion than what is out on the table they want to name call and act like children?

Guest 600, I would only like to add that Jesus healed ten lepers in one day and only one bothered to thank him. I doubt that our EMTs do as well as he did. I am not an emt, but I want to say that I really appreciate the job they do. I envy the self-satisfaction they must get from the work they do. I do not think it is the kind of job a selfish person would pursue. If they have complaints, they should be heard. When we pray to God for help, who shows up? If they have problems, we should listen and we should act. What if they treated our calls for help the way we have treated theirs. Shame on you.

Several of us do hold degrees. Some of us found out that our high paying career left us feeling empty at the end of the day. (And, no I didn't leave my career because I was bad at it) Some of us left our career to try and make a positive difference in the world and help others. So, you sit in your little office chair and make paperclip sculptures, attend meetings, send memos and surf the internet chat boards on your lunch break (you get one), while I attempt to help others. At least when I go home at the end of the day, I can say that I tried to make a difference. You should be glad that there's people out there willing to help you, even in the presence of your insulting remarks. Apparently, your higher education did not include couth.

If the county would hire decent, eductated people we would not have half the problems we have now. The problem is that all these public service people who have nothing better to do than mix god and politics are left to run our county and our services. Nobody cares about your miserable existence. We all know that it gives you a big knot in your panties when you have a little bit of power to speak up in the county. No one is listening and most people don't care. Most people just pay their taxes and don't care about your whining and griping about how terrible your lives are or how you save a life or whatever. The real people that move this world are the educated people with money. Most of you (if not all) of the EMT's, Police Officers, Fire fighters, etc. will never be a member of the group of distinguished people with real political influence. We just need you all to kiss our asses and remind us how important we are to guide you through your misery.

First off Guest 600, apparently someone is listening, because you keep coming back, and their sure are a lot of replies on here for no one to be listening. So even if it is an idiot like you...someone is listening! Second off, people (the tax payers, public) not only should but usually do care about what we think and feel about our jobs...remember it is us that is coming to get them or their family mamber when they need it most. I mean really, have you not noticed that you are the only one on this post that feels the way you do?!?!? That has to tell you something!

Guyz- take a good close look at Guest 600s posts. They really don't make any sense. They're poorly composed. From the tone of the posts, and the way he/she rambles, it looks like this person is merely posting a bunch of garbage trying to get people angry. It's working, and Guest 600 is just laughing at how easily he/she can get all of us riled up.

The other option is that Guest 600 has a "few screws loose". Again- look at their ramblings. Only an umbalanced person would think such thoughts.

Guest 600 is just stirring the pot. Laughing at us. Don't fuel his/her fire. Let's save our effort for people more worthy of our time.

We the firefighters, police officers, and Ems workers provide you with the security to live, work and god help us, and this hurts to write, have more little guest 600's running around this county. We are your Mommy and Daddy when you get scared, or hurt. It's about respect, and the lack of said respect that the public safety persons in this county get.
