A few years ago "The State" ran an article on Lexington Co. oldest unsolved murder. I don't recall who it was, just that it was wrong.

In Feb. 73 or 4 Mr. Sam Quattlebaum was killed and robbed on some of his land a few miles away from his home. Both are on what is now Quattlebaum Rd.

Nothing ever came of this even after 35 years. Don't know why. I allways heard that the sheriff and Mr. Sam had had problems so he was in know way motivated to find his killers. I know that's just hearsay and unfounded rumor.

I allways found it odd in the rush to get Mr. Sams granson to death row not a word was ever said about his unsolved murder. His grandson? That's would be BJ. Remember him shot that Shwartz man in Gilbert and got off death row because of dectectives listening in.

Wonder who killed that man?

Now why in the world would you bring this up after so many years? Did you know these people? If you did, you would know the answers to the questions/thoughts you have of Mr. Sam's death. The family did. And why bring up BJ?

That just reminds me of a great line from "The Jerk" about a special purpose and extra work.

Grandmother: "(reading Navin's letter home to the family) My dear family, guess what. Today I found out what my special purpose is for. Gosh what a great time I had. I wish my whole family could have been here with me. Maybe some other time as I intend to do this a lot. Every chance I get. I think next week I'll be able to send some more money as I may have extra work. My friend Patty promised me a *bleep* {insert Lewinsky's special purpose here}. Your loving son, Navin. (she stops reading) And he's got the kisses here."

Father: "That Patty must be a sweet girl."

Mother: "God bless her."

Why? Because I guess it's what someone other than yourself would call a cold case file. I guess you and JD would say "It happened so long ago let's not worry about it."

Here's one that I guess a regular posted
http://www.friendsofsc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6017

it's only got this one by a year or two. Why didn't you question this one?

And yes I knew him. So what's that mean if I knew
"you would know the answers" what?

The family did what?

The part about BJ. I found it ironic how he killed someone in the same manner as his grandfather had been killed and nothing was ever mentioned about it as it is in other cases.

Well, before you go putting words in my mouth... how do you know what I would call it? I've not posted anything at all that would leave you to believe that's how I would feel. No, I would never say that about anyone who has lost their life. I would hope that there would be closure for the person and for that person's family. Murder doesn't have a statute of limitations. If you know something more about the case... why not go to law enforcement?

Actually there just seemed to be something rather off about your post in general. In fact, I've noticed that you only seem to post something when you are trying to stir up trouble or controversy. I assumed (maybe wrongly... that's still yet to be seen) that you were trying to do the same here.

The big difference being that I posted a link to an article and didn't toss out rumors like:

I allways heard that the sheriff and Mr. Sam had had problems so he was in know way motivated to find his killers.
