We as a state mourn the tragic loss of Cpl. Cusack. My thoughts and prayers are with the Cusack family, and his brothers and sisters in grey. My God wrap his comforting arms around the Cusack family.

Lancaster, SC (AP, WLTX) -- A 21-year veteran of the South Carolina Highway Patrol died after crashing his cruiser while on duty.
Authorities say 45-year-old Cpl. D. Kevin Cusack drove his cruiser off the road while driving on state Highway 200, about six miles south of Lancaster early Saturday morning.
Lancaster County deputies are investigating the wreck. So far, few details have been released. It is unsure whether Cusack was responding to a call, or if he had his seat belt on.
Cusack joined the SCHP in 1989. He lived in Clover and is survived by his mother and three children. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.

Details have been released from this awful tragedy.

http://lancaster-chester.wbtv.com/content/report-trooper-driving-111-mph-deadly-wreck

Apparently he was going around 111mph without lights, siren, or probable cause.

I believe in trying to learn from tragedies. Hopefully the police will use lights and sirens when going that fast and that the strict enforcement of them obeying the speed limits will be placed when they are in a non-responsive situation. Maybe even they can put in governors to not allow these cars to go above 75mph unless they are running lights and sirens.
