Please keep this deputy in your prayers. Also pray that they find the ba$tard low life(s) that did this.

Charleston, SC (WLTX) -- Multiple television stations in Charleston are reporting that a Charleston County deputy was shot twice near Grimball Road and Cuffey Lane.
Sheriff Al Cannon told television stations that the deputy was shot when he responded to a burglary call. Cannon reportedly was staying near the deputy at the hospital, telling the media that the officer had been shot in the cheek and forearm.
"The deputy has some pretty serious wounds," Cannon said. "He's in the best hands possible and I feel very optimistic there."
Officers searched for two suspects nearby, and area schools were put on lockdown as a precaution. Cannon says that officers originally responded to a burglary call from Thursday morning. When they arrived to the scene, officers told him they saw two men run away. From that point on, Cannon says he's not sure what happened.
"Some way or another the deputy was shot," Cannon said. "He's got a couple wounds." When asked if the deputy would recover, Cannon said, "It's really too early to tell, but I think he's going to be okay. He's got some very serious wounds. Again, he's in good hands here."

My thoughts and prayers are absolutely with him and his family. I, too, am hoping that they catch the piece of s*** that did this. Hopefully when officers find him they just shoot first and ask questions later.

The bleeding hearts will cry if they get harsh sentences.
I say save the jail space for minor offences and publicly hang the rest.

Which bleeding hearts? Who will be crying? How do you know? Aren't you just making another hateful commentary with no basis in reality whatsoever?

SC deputy shot 6 times says surviving is a miracle
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- A South Carolina sheriff's deputy shot six times while investigating a burglary report says it is a miracle that he survived.
Jeffrey DeGrow paused to collect himself several times Thursday as he thanked all the people who helped to arrest three suspects after he was shot on Jan. 21 and helped take care of him. A fund has been created to help his family pay medical bills and other expenses.
"One week ago from today, my life was changed forever after being shot six times. It's truly a miracle and God's grace that I am still here today," said DeGrow, reading from a prepared statement.
<SCRIPT type=text/javascript>if ($('#story_assets').length == 0 && $('#assets_ad #yahoo_300x250_ipbtf div').length == 0) { $('#assets_ad').hide ();}</SCRIPT>The shooting happened as the Charleston County deputy patrolled a James Island neighborhood for suspects in a burglary. Three men began running when they spotted his patrol car, and DeGrow chased them. He reached for his Taser, but one of the suspects had a gun and fired at him, authorities said.
Sheriff Al Cannon was on his way to the shooting when he turned around and led a police escort to get DeGrow to the hospital. DeGrow was released Monday, a bullet fragment still lodged in his brain. Doctors want the swelling to go down before they remove the fragment. DeGrow was also shot in the arm and at least one bullet grazed the side of his head.
The 33-year-old deputy said he isn't sure if he'll regain vision in his right eye. Doctors had to reconstruct the eye after the shooting, and DeGrow told dispatchers in his emergency call to report the shooting that he lost his vision on that side.
"I have a long road ahead of me. But the Lord gives me strength - and above all to never give up," DeGrow said.
Three people have been charged in the shooting. Brandon Simmons, 21, faces a charge of assault and battery with intent to kill. A sworn statement from investigators said he fired the shots at DeGrow. His brother, Theodore Simmons, 20, and a cousin, Curtis Williams, 20, are charged with misprision of a felony for knowing about a crime but lying to investigators, police said. It wasn't immediately clear if they had attorneys.
DeGrow has been with the Charleston County sheriff's office for more than six years, working for Mount Pleasant police before that.
"Anyone in law enforcement knows the risk we take on a daily basis," DeGrow said. "As far as being shot, it's a possibility, but it is something we try not to think about."
We really do need to bring back public hangings and firing squads for POS's.
