ND woman's 7-foot-long dog could be record holder

Boomer may be a buster: Measuring 3 feet tall at the shoulders and 7 feet long from nose to destructive wagging tail, his owner thinks she may have the world's tallest living dog.

Caryn Weber says her 3-year-old Landseer Newfoundland keeps all four paws on the floor when he drinks from the kitchen faucet in her family's farm house in eastern North Dakota.

Boomer can stare into a car window eye to eye with a driver. A 20-pound bag of dry dog food lasts a couple of weeks.

Weber says the fluffy black and white dog "comes into the house and his tail is so high everything gets knocked around."

Weber plans to send Boomer's measurements to Guinness World Records. The previous record holder was a nearly 4-foot-tall Great Dane that died this summer.

I have really enjoyed reading stories about relationships some of you share with your pet dogs. I would love to read more! Does your dog have a destructive wagging tail? A destructive bone in his/her body? How 'bout those messes around the house or in the yard...or is your baby the perfect little angel? Do tell!

Oh my... destructive dogs are so cute... when they belong to someone else... but we have a very destructive little "angel" ourselves. You just can't trust her. She can get out of any crate you put her into... or try to kill herself trying to get out... and when she does get out she turns the blinds into confetti. Recently we spent a lot of $$$ replacing window blinds and had to actually install a wrought-iron baby gate (iron so she couldn't chew through it)... and she's a little Lhasa Apso. We don't have any trouble out of our Huskies.

Our guys can do a tail wag from he!!. Especially at 5:00 am in the morning when they stand in the doorway of the bedroom and thump their tails on the hollow core door sounds like the Lex High School Drum line. Then they look at you like did I wake you........Well since you are up we would like to go out.
