What is the deal with evidence being supervised in the administration department?

Here's the sum of why evidence is in the Administration Div.

The Sgt over evidence was hired as a 'Detective' to administer/manage the Accr. Policies and Standards. She was hired under Prill (who's over the Administration department). After realizing that being the Accr. manager is not a full-time job, the department decided to re-haul the evidence room, move people out, and brought her in as a Sgt (with a car) over one person (maybe two now).

Well Prill did not want to give up Accr (being this is his baby - he was hired to get this), he simply put the Evidence Room under his command.

Simply put, another waste of money from Sheriff Metts in order to achieve another award for his resume'. Accreditation is nothing but a waste of taxpayers money! It is only a matter of time before this Administration tumbles! ;-)

If you really want to know about accretitation then why don't you visit www.calea.org. Thats what I did. Some of the information on this lex-co site is so wrong it makes me laugh. Look at the departments that are accredited in South Carolina. You will find that all the progressive larger departments including SLED and DPS are accredited. I should say all the major departments except Richland County Sheriff's Office. I guess he must be smarter than Chief Stewart, Chief Austin, Sheriff Johnny MacBrown (now the US Marshal for South Carolina) and others. Give me a break. Don't believe me, go to the website. And I found out that the people who run the accreditation program are appointed by the National Police Chiefs Association and the National Sheriff's Association. I guess they all must be wrong also.

I did work at Lexington for many years but not anymore. I do know who heggas is and it is a joke that she should be saying anything on here. Prill does not run that department Metts does. Prill does what he is told to do and ends up cleaning up things. He has always told the truth to the detectives and done the guys right.

I am sure anyone who has worked at the department knows evidence was better run when it was in investigations (NOT) The last year I was there I didnt even here anything about accreditation.

This election is about Metts not no one else. I am glad Jimmy Brazelle has entered the race. Finally there is a choice. I would welcome anyone to visit his website. He is going to win this election. He is the better alternative.

I hope everyone hears what he has to say.

I think the only reason Jimmy Brazelle is running is to try and help Daddy Metts out with votes. I doubt if it will carry much of an impact. If he was so gunho on being the next Lexington County Sheriff, why did he wait so late in the game to start his little signage campaign?

Wait a minute, is this the same Brazzelle that worked at the Sheriff's Department back in the '70's? The same one that went to DNR (then called Wildlife) and was fired because he was convicted for hunting in a baited field, A CRIME? The same guy that was then fired from USC PD because he falsified his employment application? Ok, Metts opponents are an ass fired by Metts and a criminal! Don't know about your facts on Brazelle. Don't know that it really matters that much either. Just some more votes taken from Metts if anything. As for your "kick ass"... IF Metts were to win and I use that term not only loosely but place a BIG IF on it... The probability of it being "kick ass" is SLIM AND NONE!!!!

I'd have to say the this Brazelle guy will hurt Jimmy Metts's campaign. He came in late, has no platform to speak of (he has stolen a lot of his ideas from Harrison- that of course tells you what a strong campaign Harrison has!), and seems to be in it "just because".

For those who do not follow politics think back to the Presidential election of 1992, George Bush (the first) and William Jefferson Clinton are locked in a heated campaign.

George Bush has had the highest approval ratings that any President has ever recorded (90%) after the Gulf War. George Bush raised taxes. A nobody from Arkansas challenges him and picks up steam in his campaign.

Next comes billionaire Ross Perot, who's annoying little voice pissed people off.

The result, THE INCUMBENT LOST! Perot the "spoiler" did not pull votes from Clinton, but from the incumbent.

Compare that information to this race:

1.) Jimmy Metts has increased his budget by almost 60% in a little over 1 term. Essentially raising taxes.

2.) Jimmy Metts has not been a sheriff for about 5 years now, letting his "stand-in" Timmy James, ruin, I mean, run, the place.

3.) Jimmy Metts has sought more jobs than I can remember (Head of the Criminal Justice Academy, Head of SLED, U.S. Marshall, Department of Corrections, Run for the Governors house, etc.)

4.) Jimmy Metts has allowed his temper to upset a huge percentage of the population (Crotch Grabbing)

5.) Jimmy Metts has set up debates with Mr. Harrison then not shown up. The ulitmate in telling the voting public he doesn't care about them.

6.) Jimmy Metts has strong armed his own employees to donate money to his campaign "or else" and has them doing unethical, if not illegal, things in an attempt to sway this election. (Maybe he will be bunking with Martha Stewart before this is over with!)

7.) Jimmy Metts only wants to be the longest serving sheriff, he hasn't cared about the Lexington County Sheriff's Department in a long time.

8.) Jimmy Metts has a little problem with a certain real estate lady.

9.) Jimmy Metts campaign is in such a shambles the best he can muster to a GOP group is I am part of a team, re-elect me.

10.) Metts IS trailing Larry Harrison in the polls.

Now when you consider that Mr. Harrisons supporters are going to be out in mass on June 8th and bringing friends and relatives to vote for him, while Jimmy Metts's supporters are only saying they will vote for him so they don't have to listen to his crap now. The majority of the employees of the sheriff's department are supporting Mr. Harrison (sorry Jimmy, but it's true! Your "dream team" staff are just yes men at this point.)

I predict that Harrison will win handsomely with Braselle pulling more votes away from Metts.

:?: I looked forward to learning what Mr. Brazelle had to offer as a candidate. I met him as he politicked at the 'United We Stand' anti-tax meeting. While his wife held his nice white thirty gallon cowboy hat he told me he had no idea what things needed changed within the Sheriff's Department but that he wanted to be a good public servant and, AFTER election would figure them out to do something. I was NOT impressed. Either he is clueless or a subterfuge.

Detective, live up to your name and do your homework on Brazelle! I worked with the guy when DNR was still called Wildlife and though he is telling everyone he was fired for hunting in a baited field, it was more than that! The guy was selling the stolen watercraft that he was recovering from his investigations and pocketing the money! How he didn't go to prison still baffles all of us!
