Did anyone see where they fired a 23 yr trooper(female)for DUI? Her career is down the drain. Why can't these folks who go into LE set the right examples instead of breaking the rules themselves.I guess they let it go:cry: to their heads and figure nah,it won't happen to me,I am a LEO!

I don't think it is a matter of letting it (by "it" I guess you mean power... what little they actually have) go to their heads. Well, certainly not all of them... very few actually. Unfortunately, a few bad apples make the whole bunch look bad (and, of course, there are some in law enforcement, but there are bad apples in every field). People forget that just because a person is a member of law enforcement it doesn't mean that they aren't human. Should they use more common sense when it comes to the law (a little more at least)? Absolutely, but humans are human and everyone makes mistakes. This individual made a very stupid mistake and it is going to cost her career... and I think she was only about 2 years from retirement. How's that for a waste?

That's SAD! What is that saying,to err is human or vice versa?

No... I'm just saying that everyone makes mistakes and individuals who work in law enforcement are no different... they are human just like the rest of us. Screwing up is a human behavior and I think that it stereotypes law enforcement if one truly believes that they all think that they are above the law. That's like saying they are all out there doing illegal things always thinking "I'm an officer so I can get away with it". I'm sure a few do, but that's like saying all police officers are bad... and they aren't. That's all I'm saying. Of course, this woman screwed up and she just happened to be in law enforcement and now she's going to pay a heavy price for that screw up.

Of course that is very true... to err is human and to be human means that you will make errors. Some to a greater degree than others. No one is perfect. Of course, if you make severe errors then, yes, you should be punished accordingly, absolutely, no matter what job you have.
