A couple of the people are very helpful and professional. There's one there that's the one to talk to.

You people need to realize that the warrant division is in charge of all of the warrants, civil papers, and family court papers for the entire county. With only a few dedicated people to do this job, no one has a right to say they do nothing. Have any of you sat in check court to see the progress the officers make on a weekly basis. If you have not check court is on Mondays first thing. So before you start bashing the warrant division take a long look at what they do. Lets think about the 2 great admin people that are in the warrant division, If you have ever called there you know who I am talking about. Thanks Donna and Nicole for a WINDERFUL job you do helping the people of Lexington County. :D

I agree! Don't blame the poor guys in warrant division for the workload, BLAME James R. Metts! He is the one who has two secretaries and Timmy James has one but only ONE is in the budget.

How can this be, you ask? Simple, the second secretary of Metts and the one for James are obviously slots that belong elsewhere in the budget and are being utilized for what they want, rather than were THEY said they would be used for.

I wonder how many uniformed road patrol deputy slots have been hijacked to other areas? (Remember a good attorney never asks a question he doesn't already know the answer too)

How many other positions are being wasted ("intelligence", surveillance, etc.) that could be put to WORK in places like the warrant division and on the street?

It all comes down to the budget and mismanagement by James and Metts. It should be a crime. Then again, maybe it is?

JT...you are absolutely correct. Not only is the warrant division understaffed, so is the detective division. Since 1986 there have only been 4 new detective slots added to the division. These were slots created with grants. Population grows, crime increases, uniform patrol officers added, but no new detectives. The detective & warrant divisions are working their butts off to serve papers and solve cases. Then the administration bitches about overtime and how much it will cost to solve a crime & on & on & on. Damn if you do, damn if you don't. Add more people, less overtime= saves money.

Who's the guy in the warrant division office? I've dealt with him several times and he's on top of things. Those people do a great job and don't get the credit they deserve.
