If you have a story, an incident, an accident, a traffic stop, etc. Relate and explain. This thread is for both LEO and civilian alike.

This guy should be FIRED!!

i know cops never know what they're going to run up on, and they have to be prepared for any situation, but this guy was just ridiculous. all he was doing was trying to push his weight around. i was fully expecting him to shoot the poor woman in the back for going on into the hospital. they should PUBLICLY strip him of his gun and badge.

May he never find himself in the same situation the Moats family was in. If he is, i hope he thinks of the unneccesary pain he added to this family.

Unfortunatley alot of people that are headed to the hospital to see a loved one drive like morons. That forces the officer to balance compassion for their dilemma with the need to ensure that the person arrives at their destination safely and with harming others.

Too often, people will flsely claim a medical emergency to try and get out of a ticket.

However, In this case the officer was aat the hospital and could have simply kept the man's license until his story was verified and the could have taken appropriate action after he learned all of the facts.

I am sure that the violator and his family could have handled this more calmly also. I think the families emotional state raised the officers stress level and their (the females) refusal to follow the officers instructions caused a heated exchange between two Alpha males ( A Cop and a Football Player).

At some point, no later than when the nurse came out and verified the medical situation, the officer should have re-assessed the situation and reacted differently.

i don't see why he couldnt have just walked with them, to see where they actually went, and handled things differently. or like you said, AB, kept that license until later. The guy could have just taken off into the hospital, but i commend him for doing the right thing, as hard as it was for him, and hanging out there with the cop and trying to get the situation straightened out. i would have just said 'forget you!' and taken off, and probably been dragged kicking and screaming out of that hospital.

i hate that the guy didnt get to spend any time with his MIL before she passed. that's something he's going to regret for a long time, even tho it was a situation that really couldn't be helped on his part.

It is stories like this that make me sick... it is guys like this one that give cops an undeserved bad name. Honestly, this guy is just an idiot and an arse... and it just so happens that he is also a cop. Unfortunately, a lot of people out there will judge other officers based on how this guy behaved. One bad apple can make the whole bunch look bad when really it is just one bad apple.

Even in Australian dollars $1000 a week must be for some extra-huge and fancy apartment in Brisbane. You could live a lot cheaper than that in New York, and Brisbane is not exactly a major world city.

But chicken nuggets! They didn't specifically say McNuggets. But I wonder.

Like plenty of fathers, Kevin Bell took his young daughter to Chuck E. Cheese for her birthday. He just had to get a ride from his jail cell to do it.
