I heard from a insider at the SO that a deputy made a statement about a west columbia magistrate and his daddy (Jake) and that day he was suspended for three days and transferred from his/her postition. Has anyone else heard this or is this just bad informaion. I heard it was over a ticket that was getting fixed.

He didnt violate any policy, I guess the Sheriff did, since he was there in the meeting with the deputy. I dont know exactly what he said, but it had to do with something about why a certain ticket got set in Judge Lucas's court, since the guy who got the ticket, his mother called jakie. The officer was told not to come to court and that our general counsel was taking care of the ticket, which he nolle prossed. The general counsel, who i have never seen do but 1 case took the ticket from the officer and handled it. Our general counsel who wont even help us with jury trials took this one on. Hmmmm i wonder why.

As for a termination. You really have no business sense at all do you?
I have spent 17 years in HR. If I disqualified an applicant because he was fired everytime one came through the door, believe me, our unemployment rates would be a lot higher than they are. You see there are these things called "extinuating circumstances", "differences of opinions" etc.. To that end Wyatt, it appears that Harrison was not terminated for poor job performance. Actually his employment history shows a stellar record of a qualified and good employee. He was terminated based upon an alleged affair with a supervisors so called wife
that no one could prove.

To go a step further. Pissing off your boss by stepping in his personal backyard is not a crime either. Of course then nothing really ever happened and it was all heresay and speculation. No proof! Just like everything else the seems to be part of this Cancer you call a Sheriffs Department. Wyatt, put up or shut up! I have yet to see this proof that everyone seems so keen to hold over this mans head.

I would have let the door handle hit Metts in the ass if he came in my office asking me to terminate someone because he screwed one of my supervisors wives. If it didn't affect his job performance, if it wasn't done on company time and if it was consentual, you are wasting my time.

Also, just for the record, don't come knocking on my door unless you have 100% proof. If you want to terminate someone in our "Terminate at will" State. All you have to do is walk in and say "we no longer need your services". Not, you slept with little mans wife over here and his feelings are hurt. "Either give me your resignation or me and my buddy Timmy are going to fire you". That is more unlawful than what Harrison was accused of. Still NO PROOF!!! The only thing I have seen proof of is that this alleged affair happened with an unsatisfied, drug seeking ho. By the way, focus should be on getting this woman help. Clearly there are some issues that need to be addressed with the so called Supervisor and his wife.

Small minds only see the small picture. IF and this is a big if because I don't know what happened, IF Harrison was accused of sleeping with a supervisors wife, that is a potentially HUGE problem. You see cops carry these things called guns that shoot bullets. They also have to rely on each other for back up. You see, if the problem went on and someone got hurt on a crime scene it could have blown up causing all types of liability problems. As I have said, I do not know if this is the reason or not. The main thing is that good employees usually do not get fired. Something had to happen to cause them to get let go. I honestly do not think that if anyone had two applicants who were equal in all aspects except where one had been fired before, that any good business person would chose the fired person over the other. Therein lies my point. Harrison and Sons were fired (or not reappointed) for whatever reason. Both looked into legal action which both found out was not possible. Both are upset about their situations, which led to them running to out the person that supposedly wronged them. Public officials should run because they have a desire to serve, not for a personal vendetta.

Where is all this experience that Harrison has? Where did it come from? How did he get it? This is what no one has answered yet. All the Harrison supporters keep saying he has all this experience, ok, I'll bite, WHAT EXPERIENCE?
And reality, you need to get some reality. Supervising police officers brings a whole new set of problems that normal HS people do not have to deal with. Family members usually aren't on the same force and if so they are put on different shifts becuase of what might happen. Like I said before, I dont know what happened or why, but the situation I posed is a real one that has happened before. It is real.
And IBCop2 I am not a Metts supporter. I have tried to find out about Harrison but have never gotten straight answers from this board or the man himself. What will Metts do to fix the gang problems that are beginning to pose threats to our children? What will Metts do to fix the problems in the Court House? What will Metts do to arm the citizens of Lexington County with quality programs and Community Awareness task force? When will Metts implement these things? Why has he achieved the accreditations he has and how can he oversee a Law Enforcement institution as large as LCSD if he is pursuing personal interest and certifications? Why is he teaching in Charleston? What does Charleston have to do with Lexington County and our tax paying $$$? Why did he teach at USC? Why wasn't he in his office figuring out ways to reduce a budget, fix the internal problems among employees, education our community, staffing more police officiers instead of glorified computer geeks and secretaries?

Now Wyatt, you get my questions answered and I will be happy to get yours answered. You get Metts to meet with Harrison in public at a Debate and I will not only gladly attend the debate with my list of questions. I encourage you to attend with your list of questions. I heard from a insider at the SO that a deputy made a statement about a west columbia magistrate and his daddy (Jake) and that day he was suspended for three days and transferred from his/her postition. Has anyone else heard this or is this just bad informaion. I heard it was over a ticket that was getting fixed.

He wasn't the only one transfered. Trooper Mayfield was transfered to Anderson because he was writing to many DUI tickets on Old Dunbar Road and the "businesses" complained. Jakie set Mayfield up one night by intentionally getting stopped by him. The next day he complained to the brass of the highway patrol. Transfered out. Also, there is a Trooper that was transfered to Rockhill area for stopping Frazier and writing him a ticket. Frazier complained twice to internal affairs against the Trooper which all allegations were unfounded. Frazier lost the Jury Trial. Lucas remembered the same trooper asking him "whose butt he kissed to become a magistrate". As soon as Jakie found out he was transfered out. All this can be confirmed.
