I don't know about making you smarter, but there is one out for a few years now called Provigil that helps tremendously in keeping you alert. There is no physical sensation with it whatsoever, no "buzz", and there are no significant side effects. No side effects as far as I know. They are used regularly by airline pilots and others who have to darn well stay alert.
The dang thing is paying for it. Insurance companies try to refuse to pay for it at $8 per standard 100 mg tablet. Should be available as a generic in just a few years.

Would be great for students cramming for exams, as long as there's no major side effects.

I use it regularly. The state makes the doctor fill out a LOT of extra forms to justify it, and then there's kind of a big co-pay. It's hard to believe but you feel no sensations from it at all. You're just alert.
I understand that it's available on the street, but probably for at least twice the retail pharmacy price. But would I try selling mine? NO! I don't have the right clothes for it.

Dude, that's just wrong on so many levels.
So here's the evil clown that started my lifelong clown fear. Rated the Number one villian on Scooby Doo, I give you
http://www.retroist.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/04/1ghostclown.gif
http://www.retroist.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/04/clown.jpg
To this day I still hear him in my sleep. “Watch the pretty coin of gold and you will do what you are told…” The Ghost Clown was the villain in the episode called Bedlam in the Big Top. I remember that episode name because it sent chills coursing through me whenever it came on the TV. Of course you could take anything that is scary and to make it scarier by just adding a clown. On the scary scale of 1-10 clowns rate a 64 and a Hypno-Clown rates off the chart.
When unmasked it turns out to be: Harry the Hypnotist

I t did, but on the other side of the world. It was on the news, an uninhabited south Pacific island swelled up like a balloon, then fell out of sight beneath the blue waters.
And the truly weird thing: There was not a single ripple of a wave. No wave at all. The impossible happened while hundreds of the world's most prominent scientists looked on, helplessly.

I've heard they are going to outlaw it soon. They've been manufacturing it down in Mexico. The street price is going up too. You may want to stock up, but don't forget to keep it stashed pretty good. You don't want to get busted for possession with intent to distribute.

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Two men are being held in Greenville after police say they stole a man's ATV and then tried to sell it back to him.
The man said Ralph Pernell Lewis, 41, and Justin Antwan Johnson, 21, were arrested after the man told them he'd need to go to the bank to get money, and once inside, he called police.
Police arrested Lewis at the bank. Investigators said that Johnson fled, and was found later hiding inside a Laurens Road business that was occupied by about 25 people. Johnson was arrested and no one in the building was injured. <TABLE class=storyAd cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=storyAdObj><!-- Begin Ad tag: square--><SCRIPT type=text/javascript>IBSYS.ad.AdManager.registerPosition({"iframe": false,"addlSz": "","element": "ad_N302E3120.4AB6","interstitials": false,"beginDate": "","endDate": "","getSect": "yes","name": "square","qString": "","width": "300","height": "250","section": "","useId": "18377259","interactive": false,"useSameCategory": true,"topic": "","swSectionRoot": "","useZone": "","containerType": "page","containerID": "89882","type": "DOM"});</SCRIPT><SCRIPT src="http://ad.doubleclick.net/adj/ibs.gs.news/national;kw=news+square+18377259;comp=210013064;ad =true;pgtype=detail;tile=4;sz=300x250;ord=12306488 30743?"></SCRIPT><SCRIPT src="http://js.admeld.com/meld110.js" type=text/javascript></SCRIPT><NOSCRIPT></NOSCRIPT><!-- End Ad tag: square--></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

I think I will stick with my Red Bull...it works wonders ! I read they used a certain drug (which is in Red Bull) to boost the soldiers morale when fighting the Vietnam War. This drug does something to stimuli the brain. Trust me it works.

Robbery suspect killed in fiery crash
http://www.thestate.com/breaking/story/645095.html
CHARLOTTE -- One robbery suspect is dead and another in police custody after a bizarre pursuit Thursday night that ended in a fiery wreck that has shut down a portion of the Brookshire Freeway.
Police say that in their haste to get away, robbery suspects crashed one car and then carjacked an SUV from a plainclothes Gaston County police officer.
In the confrontation, at least two shots were fired by the officer before the Chevy Suburban crashed and burst into flames. The fiery wreck was fueled by ammunition in the truck.

Middle School Students Catch Drunk Teacher on Video
http://www.wltx.com/assetpool/images/090324111202_drunk.jpg
Land O'Lakes, Fla. (WTSP) -- Video has now surfaced of a Pasco County teacher accused last week of coming to class intoxicated and forcing students to dance in an inappropriate manner.
District administrators say 42-year-old Kylene Nelson remains on administrative leave pending a decision on her future by the Pasco County School Board.
Reports show the teacher had a blood alcohol level of 0.26 and later ran from campus to a nearby community center where she was found passed out by a pool.
A student, who did not want to be identified, told 10 Connects Nelson reeked of alcohol and was making strange faces during first period Language Arts class.
Later, music was turned on and, students say, the teacher began grabbing them and demanding they dance.
"She started saying, 'If you don't dance with me, you guys all fail,'" the student recalled.
At one point, witnesses say Nelson partially exposed her butt while dancing with a 13-year-old boy.
"We told her, 'Miss Nelson, please pull up your pants', and she did, but then they fell down again and she held them there," the 8th grader said, also noting her teacher did not appear to have on underwear.
"She was kinda grinding, like, putting her butt against you," the student said.
A recommendation on how to discipline Nelson will be made during an April 21st school board meeting. The decision on whether or not to terminate her employment will ultimately be left up to the Pasco County School Board.
In a separate incident from October of 2006, reports indicate Nelson failed to show up for a third period class at Seven Spring Middle School. A school resource officer found Nelson passed out in her car surrounded by bottles of wine.
She was ordered to change schools and undergo a substance abuse program, but remained employed with Pasco County Schools.
Students say Nelson was an excellent teacher, but now hope she can get help for her alcohol problem.
I wonder if she went to job fair at the Topless Club?

Agents seize $1.2 billion worth of pot in Calif.
More than 318,000 marijuana plants were destroyed in the operation
FRESNO, Calif. - Federal and state agents have arrested 83 people accused of growing more than $1.2 billion worth of marijuana in a crackdown on illegal pot gardens in California's Sierra Nevada range.
Local officials said several Mexican marijuana-growing cartels helped set up the grow sites scattered throughout rocky mountainsides of eastern Fresno County, and they warned that more arrests were likely as the sweep continues.
More than 318,000 marijuana plants were destroyed in the operation, which also netted nearly $41,000 in cash, 25 weapons and two vehicles, Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims said Thursday.
