I heard that the ex-policeman that resigned is also coaching football with Marion high. If he resigned to keep from going to jail, how do the people in Marion allow this. Don't know why he resigned, but it had to be a serious reason to resign when SLED was investigating him!! I thought that the coach is suppose to be a roll model and someone that the kids are to look up to. This sounds like something that would happen here in Dillon.

I watch the Marion City Council meeting on Channel 8 last night and they kind of mentioned this situation but were being very careful not to say too much. Can someone tell us more on this? We deserve to know especially if this guy is coaching kids. I'm not automatically comdemning this officer but I'm simply inquiring about more facts.

IF a cop was busted for drug use, would you want him coaching your high school kid on the football field? just a hypothetical question, of course.

Get your bucket.

Hypothetical question posed is yours or others to seek answers to, sorry but for good reason I can't pick the blueberries for you.

If you have a taste for good blueberries, get your bucket and start picking, you might be surprised at how solid these berries are. They will surely ripen over time and all will then know about them.

Just because there were no charges filed does it may it right or wrong!! Most of the time they let you resign before you are fired with charges filed. The policeman are a very close group, except when cameras are running ( remember:get out before you make all of us look bad).

what you said shows all cops are corrupt. so you can resign and avoid prison! how convenient!!!

Im a resident of Marion City. It sounds to me alot of people is being unfair to this policeman and his family. Lets take the time to think. If he got busted for drugs are anything related to wrong doings, why was'nt this on television or in the news papers. It does not matter how close cops are they would like to show to the public how they feel about drugs. by them not putting this in the press are making an arrest they may be involved, they go along with it, or it maybe just mabe it did not happen. We live in socity today where we like to see drama. If we knew the truth would you tell it. This police officer has helped all of us, and has coached our children. At no time i thought or we thought he was doing something wrong then. As a community we has got to stop letting good things slip away. He was a good thing to us. If you are truely a resident of Marion and has had contact with this officer you would agree. Lets turn our focus on the real problems that face our city. How about the crime? Do you feel safe here? How about jobs? Why do all the jobs go to neighboring towns? I think this was put in place to destract us from the real probelms we have. Just the other day someone asked me did the Mayor get fired or did he resigned. I called the Mayor's Office myself and asked to speek to him, ,,,,,,, and he answered. I felt so foolish. I got involved in the GOSSIP MILL. Its everywhere i go, at work, at home, at the gass station. I agreewith you he shouldn't be coaching our kids, he should be in jail,'''''''''' but if he's quilty of these things. I've heard so much. I never heard the same thing twice. Thats telling me something. We should do more research, and "get our buckets", " try someberries". I think we will see a cover up and the truth for whats its worth. Be carefully of the things people bring you and who brings it.

What about the truck load of drugs found at Sara Lee that disappeared WHILE under police coverage. So he resigned, he still can't out run the law. If he has done something wrong them SLED will get him. Reports on the radio say that things are still under investigation.

Normally would agree 100% mfpd303. but what makes this case different is the school district is allowing him to coach our kids as an assistent football coach at Marion High. IF he was involved in drugs and that's a big IF, I for sure don't know if he was or not, then he doesn't need to be a coach and role model for our kids, especially without some punishment and period of rehabilatation. I'm all for 2nd chances, but if he is going to stay in public position during or so soon after being fired, parents have a right to some truthful answers either from the MPD or the school district.

Look, if the guy has a clean criminal record then why the need for the apparent public attempt to crucify him. Just like mfpd303 stated:

"if he has done something wrong it makes him human like everyone else. only he knows what he did if he did anything. people need to leave him alone and get on with thier lives."

If the parent's are concerned then quit talking about it, pull his criminal record, and go accordingly. If the guy did make a mistake about drugs and/or what-not then I am sure all of this spotlight and public embarassment is enough restitution for his alleged crime.

Hey, how about this approach? The guy could have actually learned a life lesson, assuming the rumors are true, that he can pass on to those kids on the team. So are we to assume that the head football coach has no sense and wants this "bad person" around the kids on the team? People, please think!

Like I said before, pull his criminal record if you are so concerned. If it is clean then leave the man alone. Just let the record speak for itself.

Thank you.

Even if he did it, if he's not denyin' it AND if he's not still doin' it leave the man alone. Sometimes it takes a stronger man to come back from a mistake than to never make one.
