This is the year for Tiger fans. Not so much for the Gamecocks especially after a whoopin from Georgia in that second game. Carolina will not recover from that all year. Spurrier not nearly worth the hype and will be exposed this year. People growing weary of just Good seasons at Clemson as well. It's time for Bowden to put up or shut up.

It is my humble opinion that Spurrier has already been exposed.
Now, Bowden? He has been doing a good job with good seasons but WE WANT A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP! Once you taste that type of victory you want it again and again.
Sorry Shamecocks, you have no idea what I mean. And never will! LOL!!!

Clemtech did win a national championship in football but THEY CHEATED to do it, a matter of public record you hillbilly tiger rednecks. NCAA rules were changed to implement the "death penalty" b/c of the degree of Clemson's cheating to win that championship.
Spurrier exposed??? Yea, right, how about Tammy Bowden's inability to win an ACC championship...ACC I said, the weakest link in college football conferences. Great recruiter but even with all that talent he can't win the lowly ACC. And now he's letting a woman beater remain a member of his team, he knows it's do or die for him this year and he'll go to any extreme to protect himself and his job. Shame on Bowden and shame on all Tiger fans for allowing it.

You Shamecocks need to establish a sense of humor. Yep, we cheated (yawn).
True, I will give you the crack about Bowden. It is time for Tommy to get it done or get out. Tiger fans are frustrated.
I am not touching the "woman-beater" remark. Has the player been convicted of the crime or just accussed? Accusations are made every day.

Watch a new gamecock show on hometown Tv channel 8 this weekend. Wayne George, Rodney Rogers and Perry Grice were hosting the show. They even had the defensive line coach on there. It was actually a good show but once again we've got some VERY overly-optimistic Carolina Fans. Carolina simply has no football tradition. Great fans I'll admit but no Team. Maybe 5 games this year.

As a Clemson I have to say it's time for a new coach. Tommy hasn't shown much with the talent that we have. It was kinda strange I admit when Clemson beat Florida St. when Tommy was headed out the door. Can you smell the rat? As for our National Championship, it's not cheating until you get caught. Gamecocks, what is going on? Spurrier went to Duke, Duke of all places and won games. Now he's at Carolina and can't win the SEC. It's not Spurrier, it's something else. To much talent at Carolina too not to be able to win the SEC title. Maybe with the cry baby Mitchell gone ya'll can win some games. Good luck to both teams this year but like always, I'm ready for the BBQ chicken at the end of the year. How you like your chicken Fish? LOL!

Officials accused of stockpiling $80 million in cash
Clemson University, striving to be one of the nation’s top 20 public universities, often seeks media attention. But not the kind it received this week in U.S. Judge Matthew Perry’s courtroom.
After a four-hour hearing in which Perry heard numerous allegations that Clemson’s top officials mismanaged public money, the judge ruled that a lawsuit brought by a former confidant to the school’s board of trustees could go forward.
Remember Holderman at USC? This is worse!

A Bowden is picked to win ACC, but it's not Bobby
Published: 7/21/08, 7:46 PM EDT
By TIM REYNOLDS
<!-- google_ad_section_start (name=blsadstrgt)-->GREENSBORO, Ga. (AP) - For the 17th straight year, a Bowden-coached team is the preseason favorite in the Atlantic Coast Conference. For the first time in that span, it isn't Florida State.
Clemson - coached by Tommy Bowden, the son of Bobby Bowden, major college football's wins leader at Florida State_ was announced Monday as the favorite to win the ACC title. It's the first time Clemson has been the league's preseason choice since 1991, the year before the Seminoles entered the league.
"I'd like to see him win every game but one - not us," said Bobby Bowden, whose team was picked third behind Clemson and Wake Forest in the ACC's Atlantic Division. "But it's good. If I can't be there, I'd just rather him be next."
Clemson picked up 59 of 65 first-place votes in the league's Atlantic Division balloting, and was an overwhelming choice - named on 51 ballots - to win the overall ACC title and claim an automatic berth in the Bowl Championship Series. Defending league champion Virginia Tech easily picked up top honors to prevail in the Coastal Division, over North Carolina and Miami.
"I'm not used to being in this position," Tommy Bowden said. "My father's more accustomed to handling this question than I am. But I think it'll definitely elevate competition."
The Tigers have tons of offensive talent coming back, including quarterback Cullen Harper, two stellar tailbacks in James Davis and C.J. Spiller, and a breakout receiver in Aaron Kelly. And there's a clear sense that last year's 9-4 record won't be good enough in 2008 to Clemson.

Based on you posting that story in almost every thread you've written in, it seems to me that you are becoming exactly what you accuse us "Shamecock" fans of being. Last year, we were chomping at the bit when The Visor told us we might win the SEC... But we were let down. Now I see a "preseason poll" that picks Clemsux to win the ACC, and you're posting it in every thread under the sun. Would you please take a look back at last year's preseason Top 25 and then the actual Top 25 after 6 weeks? Thought so.... preseason polls are just that, POLLS. So we'll see you and your #22 Tigers in a few months. Until then, keep your copy of that article under your pillow, say your prayers over it every night and we'll be MIA and see what we get!

Leave it to a Lamecock to try to rain on someone's parade! Look, just because Spurrier, the next incarnation of Loser Holtz, cannot get the job done then do not come crying to the Clemson fans about it. We will just laugh at you more.
Is it true the Shamecock team fight song has been changed to "I Fought The Law (And The Law Won)?" LOL
As a matter of fact, last years Lamecock SEC championship rumor was started by Spurrier out of desperation. It seems Spurrier realized that he did not have a football team; he had a ballet company!
Stay your toes, Lamecocks!
By the way, you Lamecocks need to visit www.youtube.com (http://www.youtube.com) and search for "Hitler, #1 Gamecock fan" and it will pretty much say it all about your great football team! LOL

Don't think I can vote for a fish for public office that is so biased against my University and is so inept at stating and defending his position that he has to use such sarcasim and personal references in an attempt to win his arguments. Surely don't need that mentality or ineptness representing Marion County, we already have plenty of slow thinkers in office now. I like a good rivalry and I respect those on the other side who can stand their ground but your comments are overboard and your persuasive ability to win arguments is too weak for public office. Also, don't think spending all day and night on a message board is a good qualification for public office either. Get reel fish.

Scout.com predictions on Fox News today
ACC Champion: Virginia Tech
Underachiever: Clemson
The Clemson Tigers are ranked in the top 10 by many publications and are picked to win the ACC by many more. But a team with offensive line issues and question marks all over the place just doesn't scream "conference champion" to me.
Don't get me wrong, James Davis and C.J. Spiller are a freakishly good running backs and Cullen Harper's senior leadership will be invaluable, but talent-wise this is a good team, not a great one.
The running game will suffer from a very inexperienced O-line and the weapons, outside of senior Aaron Kelly, just aren't there at receiver. There are some bright spots, naturally, like a great group of defensive backs, but they aren't as solid top to bottom as their main rival for the conference championship, Virginia Tech.
The Tigers will finish 2008 better than they did in 2007 (a loss to Auburn in the Chick-fil-A Bowl), but this is simply a good team with far too lofty of expectations heaped upon it... much like the choice of underachiever over in the Big 12.

hehehehe....you're on fire and on the money. There is simply no football tradition at usc. Most loyal fans in the nation but the cocks give them nothing year after year but hope. No team in the country fears coming into Columbia; not even the smaller teams because they all feel they have a legitimate chance to pull off a mild upset. When you say "Carolina Football" what do you think of? QBs? RBs? Defensive? Their rally cry or unique ritual? no none of these come to mind...no identity-no trademark! That's because they have developed none as a result of their play on the field. Carolina is like a band with one hit(one hit wonders) ...George Rogers! Before I get bombarded by Carolina Fans let me say that wholeheartedly you folks are the greatest fans. I go to games. But you've been duked by Lou Holtz (most overrated coach in history simply because he is a media hog) and now Spurrier. New USA Today Coaches Poll out today and congrats to the CowTec Taters coming in at 9. Enjoy the preseason hype tigger fans b/c when you lose a couple of those games you always find a way to lose like Wake or Duke, you'll be crying the blues. As for strength of schedule, Clemson plays 2 teams in the top 25 preseason, #15 VTec and #23 Wake(both there b/c of their weak ACC schedules), -0- top 10 teams. On the other hand, Carolina plays 4 of the top 9 teams and 5 of the top 18 teams. Put the tigers on that schedule and looks like a 5-5 run at best. Also getting ready to go on a long run of losses to the Cocks starting this year in Death Valley. Enjoy the fantasy football hype your're living in now tiger fans b/c this is as good as it's going to get for you, all downhill from here starting with a huge opening game loss to 'Bama. Roll Tide. You might be a Clemson Tiger......
if your coach allows you to beat women and stay on the team.
if you brag about rubbing another man's rock.
if you lose to Duke on a 50 yard field goal and blame the loss on lack of game atmosphere like the coaches aren't to blame.
if you have the 72nd hardest schedule in the country and still complain about how tough it is.
if your team is known as bubble screen university.
if you are the only MAJOR university in the state of SC who doesn't have a heisman trophy winner.
if you allow 11 sacks in your spring game and then brag about how great your offensive line is.
if you are abosolutely dilusional about this season.
if you are 47-121 against the SEC.
if you lost to an Auburn team with a new offense put in just before the bowl game and you think you are preseason top 10
if you are continually referred to as "Clemons" on ESPN.
when the directions to your stadium are "drive north until you smell it then drive west until you step in it"
if Wake Forest has won an ACC title in the last 15 years and you haven't, and you STILL think you're a national power
when 56-20 came a long time before 63-17
when your so called powerhouse defense gave up a touchdown 15 out of 15 tries inside the 10 last year.
when your head coach talks about how "well put together" the baseball players look in their uniforms
when one of your star defensive players is known for the phrase "We Done Smoked It"
if you can watch the Tommy Bowden Show and never see the opposing team score a touchdown, even when the other team won.
if your team looks like 85 Barney dinosaurs running down a hill.
and in the words of the Tommy Bowden "d'biddity d'biddity deet.. that's all folks"
tee heee
08-13-2008, 09:52 AM
You might be a Gamecock...
if the best season your school has ever had involves a loss to Navy (buahaha)
if your football team ranks 16th in all-time losses nation-wide and you still think you have a "storied program."
if you continually argue how good your conference is when you have done nothing to contribute to it.
if you argue how weak the ACC is even when you have an all-time winning record against only one of it's teams.
if you never grow tired of saying "wait til next year."

Why, if we hadn't had Andre McDaniel, the woman beater, on our team tonight we would have probably lost by 3 touchdowns....what, oh we did? well, darn. If only you guys knew about all the players that got in trouble where we did get tiger help....heck, i wouldn't have a team....oh, that's right after that 34-10 arse whuppin i took tonight, maybe i dont have a team. Even if they had shown up I still don't think they would have beat Alabama. However I also watch the Carolina game too and I don't think I'd get to loud if I was a Carolina fan either!

Nah, I have not been hiding. I just got in from a Labor Day vacation and had no online access.
Maybe that "bitch-slap," as you call it, is what the Tigers need. Alabama trounced the Tigers, no doubt. The Tigers sucked ass that night. Tommy Bowden looked darn angry the whole night and he had every right. The Tigers play an opening game on ABC on a Saturday night and come out looking like a high school football team.
Did you notice how Brad Scott got the hell away from the reporters after the game was over? Yeah, after the game, and to this day, I called for Brad Scott to be fired. Offense Coordinator....HAH! Where was the offense? There was not a cloud in the sky over Atlanta that night. Thunder and Lightning were not to be found. The Tiger defense did a wonderful job up until the point of their exhaustion. Where was the offense that night? FIRE BRAD SCOTT!!!

Seriously, Carolina lost to the number 2 team in the nation by only one touchdown. Some Georgia fans I talked with thought the game would be a "killing." The Georgia fans were wrong! Had it not been for that fumble in the fourth quarter then Carolina could have won. From this Clemson fan's perspective it was a close game. Up until last night, I never saw a bulldog sweat!
Carolina could have won if they played the whole game like they did the last few seconds.

Judge refuses to dismiss suit against Clemson
The Associated Press

COLUMBIA, S.C. --
U.S. District Judge Matthew Perry has refused to dismiss a lawsuit by a former Clemson University official against the school.
The former executive secretary to the school's board, Eugene Troutman, has said he was fired last year in retaliation for his accusations of fiscal mismanagement.
Troutman alleged increases in tuition and fees at Clemson weren't justified by cuts in state appropriations, and that trustees "hoarded" cash from the increases to build an $80 million fund.
The trustees and school officials have denied any wrongdoing.
The Greenville News reported that Clemson's lawyers argued the school is an arm of the state and cannot be sued under the federal law. Perry said the Legislature had designated the school as a municipality and municipalities can be sued under the federal law.

Smelley leads South Carolina to 31-24 win at Mississippi
By ALEX RILEY

OXFORD, Miss. — For South Carolina, this one has been one year in the making.
Rogelio V. Solis/ap Order a Reprint
South Carolina quarterback Chris Smelley (7) is dropped for a loss by a Mississippi defender in the third quarter Saturday in Oxford, Miss. South Carolina defeated Mississippi, 31-24.
While everyone expected Stephen Garcia to be the starter, Smelley stepped up and turned in a breakout performance, completing 22 of 32 passes for 327 yards and three touchdowns.
S Emanuel Cook
The Gamecocks’ leader in tackles, Cook turned in a season high with 14, and his fumble return set up a touchdown.
That’s how long it’s been since the Gamecocks won their last conference game. So it was no surprise that the team was ready to celebrate the 31-24 win over Ole Miss with fans who made the long journey when the game was done.
“We really needed that one. It was a good team victory. A lot of guys contributed. A lot of game balls in the locker room,” USC coach Steve Spurrier said.
Coming into the week, South Carolina (4-2, 1-2 SEC) looked like it was going to be a team that continued to heavily rely on its defense to win games. Instead, the most volatile position on the Gamecock roster was settled, as quarterback Chris Smelley guided the team to the win.
Smelley went off for a career high of 327 yards on a 22-for-32 passing performance and tossed three touchdowns to lead the Gamecocks past a Rebels team coming off last week's upset of then-No. 4 Florida.
It was a confidence boost they sorely needed.
“A lot of people thought we were going to lose,” safety Emanuel Cook said. “We wanted to come out here and prove a point. A couple of games we lost this year, we’ve just got to bounce back and that’s what we’re doing now.”
The defense, which earned the nation’s No. 1 ranking this week, allowed Ole Miss to score at ease on its first two possessions putting the Rebels up 14-3 on the Gamecocks in the first quarter.
But Smelley and the offense refused to fold, as the junior guided the team down field on a 71-yard drive that was capped with a 20-yard touchdown pass on third and goal from the 20 to Jason Barnes.
The Gamecocks took the lead just moments later as defensive lineman Nathan Pepper scooped up a fumble and raced 29 yards to the end zone for the go-ahead score to put Carolina on top 17-14.
An Ole Miss score midway through the second quarter put the Rebels ahead 21-17 and the score remained unchanged at the half. At the intermission, Smelley was 7-for-15 for 168 yards and the one score.
The second half started with Smelley’s lone mistake of the day an interception to Lamar Brumfield, but that play was quickly negated. Carolina’s Emanuel Cook picked up a Chris Culliver forced fumble and set the team up with a return to the 42-yard line.
Smelley would atone for his earlier mistake with a drive that spanned exact five minutes and was capped with a 6-yard hookup to Barnes for both players' second score of the day.
“Jason Barnes is a receiver I definitely trust throwing to,” Smelley said. “I think his confidence is starting to rise.”
But Smelley wasn’t done scoring for the day, as he led a 95-yard drive ending with a Joe Hills 4-yard touchdown on a scramble play to finalize the Gamecocks’ numbers.
“It wasn’t really designed to be a scramble play. I kind of got some pressure and kind of rolled right, and they kind of all eyeballed Jared Cook a little bit and Joe was standing in the back of the end zone,” Smelley said.
Aside from a late burst against N.C. State in the season opener, the 31 points is the second most scored this season.
USC sealed the victory on a Carlos Thomas interception with little time remaining in the fourth quarter.
While statistics are good, the newfound sense of confidence is what the Gamecocks were looking for.
“It was a good win for all South Carolina Gamecocks,” Spurrier said. “Hopefully this will give us some momentum going into Kentucky next week.”

Where's your mouth now, Protector! Did you say Spurrier not nearly worth the hype? Hype, did you say hype???? How about that hype all you Tigers talked all year and bragged about your #9 ranking and all that Nat'l title talk?? you are 3-3 now, that's 3 wins and 3 LOSSES, 3 wins against Citadel, NC State and SC State, real powerhouses, and losses against Alabama and those powerhouse ACC teams Maryland and Wake Forest. sorry but don't think that's gonna win an ACC title much less anything else. And, trust me friend, it's going to get much worse! HA HA HA! Clemson Sucks!

Wake Forest's D.J. Boldin runs for a touchdown as Clemson's Chris Clemons (22) and DeAndre McDaniel, right, try to defend Thursday night in Winston-Salem, N.C. Wake Forest won 12-7.
CLEMSON GAME BALLS

WR JACOBY FORD
Not much to choose from here, but Ford accounted for the Tigers’ lone points on a juggling 10-yard touchdown catch in the third quarter. He had team highs with five catches for 43 yards.
DEFENSE
LB BRANDON MAYE
Maye had a team-leading nine tackles, including 1½ for loss, and one pass break-up.
<!-- /GRAY BOX ARTICLE CONTENT-->The ugliness perpetrated by Clemson and Wake Forest was definitely unsuitable for young children, at least those with aspirations of one day growing up to be offensive playmakers.
Just when you thought Clemson’s offense couldn’t regress any further, the Tigers took another step backward with a demoralizing 12-7 loss to the Demon Deacons despite keeping it close until the conclusion.
The only thing missing from Clemson’s offense (besides a decent point total) were leather helmets and the presence of ex-coach John Heisman in a performance that was vintage early 1900s.
ESPN viewers craving action would have been better off channel surfing for a repeat showing of Tuesday’s presidential debate.
Once again protection up front was a major problem, but when asked how the Tigers could generate so little offense despite the presence of so many talented playmakers, offensive coordinator Rob Spence was at a loss.
“I don’t understand right now,” Spence said.
“I don’t know. That’s something we’ve just got to keep working on.”
The Tigers opened the playbook wide and delved into its deepest chapters to no avail.
“We tried everything,” head coach Tommy Bowden said.
“We tried throwing deep to Aaron (Kelly), throwing deep over the middle to the tight ends, fake punts, C.J. (Spiller) outside and James (Davis) in the middle.”
“We just couldn’t get any continuity. We sure tried everything we had.”
The defeat drops the Tigers (3-3, 1-2) into desperate catch-up mode in the conference race as No. 21 Wake Forest (4-1, 2-0) now owns the first tiebreaker and would have to lose three league games with the Tigers required to win out in league play.
The Tigers suffered a number of injuries with starting guards Cory Lambert (first quarter) and Mason Cloy (second quarter) going out and not returning. Spiller injured his ankle with 6:27 before halftime and didn’t return. Receiver Tyler Grisham hurt his foot and missed the final quarter.
“Obviously we’re struggling offensively, no question,” Spence said. “We had a lot of injuries, and a lot of key people went out. Guys we were counting on the offensive line. That factors in, and our guys did the best they could under the circumstances, but obviously it wasn’t good enough.”
The Tigers totaled only 198 yards, including a paltry 21 rushing on 23 attempts, and averaged 3.4 per play. Despite a sloppy opening, Clemson’s defense halted Wake in the red zone and kept the Tigers in the game.
Clemson was 0-for-8 on third downs when a pass interference call on third-and-2 by Wake’s Chip Vaughn kept a late third-quarter drive alive to the Demon Deacons 15. Quarterback Cullen Harper converted another third-and-2 on a keeper before hitting Jacoby Ford for a 10-yard touchdown with seven seconds left in the third quarter.
Somehow, someway, the Tigers were holding on and now had a 7-3 lead with one quarter to go. It was 7-6 when Wake made the night’s biggest play, converting third-and-24 from its own 8 on a 28-yard catch by D.J. Boldin.
That sparked a 15-play, 78-yard game-winning touchdown drive culminated by Boldin’s 7-yard reception with 5:28 remaining.
The Tigers had amazing fourth-down conversion as Byrnes’ Xavier Dye caught a 19-yard pass on fourth-and-17 from his own 20 with 4:26 left. The Tigers were forced to go for it as they had already burned all their time outs.
They gained zero momentum, however, and four straight Harper incompletions closed out the game.
“It’s very disappointing, I just don’t have much to say,” Harper said. “We’ve just got to keep our heads up and keep fighting.”
Clemson’s defense picked up the slack at the beginning of the second half as
Clemson miraculously trailed only 3-0 at the half despite a lopsided first two quarters dominated by Wake Forest.
The Tigers went three-and-out on their first four drives (with their longest gain a 4-yard Jacoby Ford reception) and didn’t muster a first down until 6:49 remained in the second quarter.
The Demon Deacons came away empty after a first-and-goal from the 1 on their opening possession when a botched snap led to a missed field goal. They added a field goal on their second possession, but squandered first-and-goal from the 5 on the next.
“Our defense played well enough for us to win,” Bowden said. “We’ve just got to figure out a way to generate some offense.”

Gamecocks Win On The Road, Defeat Kentucky 24-17
Oct. 11, 2008
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP)--Captain Munnerlyn returned a blocked field goal 81 yards for a touchdown and set up another score with an 84-yard kickoff return as South Carolina defeated Kentucky 24-17 Saturday, improving Steve Spurrier's record to 16-0 against the Wildcats.
South Carolina (5-2, 2-2) won its ninth consecutive meeting against Kentucky (4-2, 0-2), which came in with momentum after nearly upsetting Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Instead, the Wildcats' string of futility against Spurrier is the longest by any team against a single coach other than two losing streaks against Penn State's Joe Paterno.
The game, billed as a field position showdown between two of the Southeastern Conference's top defenses, lived up to that hype, at least until midway through the third quarter. That was when Spurrier, always quick with the hook on his quarterbacks, made a change that paid immediate dividends.
Stephen Garcia replaced a struggling Chris Smelley and led four consecutive drives into Wildcat territory, which the Gamecocks turned into 10 points. It could have been more if not for three missed second-half field goal attempts by Ryan Succop.
With the game tied at 17, South Carolina took the lead for good when Garcia found Weslye Saunders open in the end zone off a playaction pass from 8 yards out. The play was set up by a 37-yard post pattern from Garcia to Jason Barnes. Garcia completed 10 of 14 passes for 169 yards in limited duty.
Kentucky quarterback Mike Hartline got the ball back with an opportunity to tie the game, but an interception by Chris Culliver clinched it for the Gamecocks.
The teams combined for six turnovers. Kentucky's defense got three of its four takeaways in the first quarter yet still trailed by a touchdown at the beginning of the second.
First, Smelley appeared to connect with Kenny McKinley for an 8-yard gain, but Kentucky's Trevard Lindley ripped the ball out of his hands and took it 28 yards to put the Wildcats ahead 7-0.
It didn't take long for South Carolina to respond. Munnerlyn returned Tim Masthay's kickoff 84 yards and was stopped only when Masthay shoved him out of bounds at the Kentucky 16.
Given new life, this time Smelley threw the ball to a place only McKinley could get it--the corner of the end zone, tying the game at 7.
It was one of few highlights for Smelley, coming off an SEC offensive player of the week performance at Ole Miss. He completed 9 of 23 passes for 105 yards and two interceptions.
Hartline wasn't much better, completing 23 of 43 passes for 152 yards and two interceptions. But he was forced to play most of the game without the team's top receiver, Dicky Lyons Jr. Lyons injured his leg and was in a walking cast and using crutches on the sideline.
On South Carolina's next drive, McKinley broke Sterling Sharpe's South Carolina record with his 170th career reception but immediately coughed up the ball up again. It was recovered by Kentucky's Marcus McClinton.
After the teams combined for three turnovers, the Wildcats had a chance to grab momentum. But Ryan Tydlacka's 29-yard field goal attempt was blocked by Jordin Lindsey and returned 81 yards for a score by Munnerlyn.
Tydlacka later connected on a 51-yard attempt--the Wildcats' longest since 2004--to put Kentucky ahead 17-14 at halftime.

Clemson fired football coach Tommy Bowden on Monday, four days after the Tigers lost to Wake Forest and fell to 3-3, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the situation.
Bowden informed his assistant coaches of his firing this morning. Assistant head coach/wide receivers coach Dabo Swinney has been named the team's interim coach for the final six regular season games and potential bowl game.
The Tigers were ranked No. 9 in The Associated Press preseason Top 25 poll and were favored to win their first ACC championship in Bowden's 10th season as coach. But Alabama blasted the Tigers 34-10 in the Aug. 30 opener in Atlanta's Georgia Dome, and Clemson then lost to Maryland 20-17 at home and again to Wake Forest 12-7 to drop their record to 1-2 in ACC play.

Clemson is 3-4! Only 3 dainty little wins and 4 GREAT BIG LOSSES! Wins against NC State, the Citadel and SC State, all teams with losing records! Losses 34-10 to Alabama, Wake Forest, Maryland and Ga Tec; other than Alabama, hardly the nation's elite. To think the Tigers were the PRE-season #9 ranked team in the nation and Tiger fans were OBNOXIOUSLY BRAGGING about this being a National Championship team. And now they are 3-4. And now they are 3-4. And now they are 3-4. Clemson is THE SINGLE MOST OVER-RATED AND OVER-HYPED TEAM AND PROGRAM in the history of NCAA football! Hype, Hype, Hype, all that big bad talk and a losing season! They fire their coach and they still lose to Georgia's Tec school. A lot of thunder and no lightning! And now the farmers have lost their Korn! Now that right there is funny, I don't care who you are!

Now, having said that, all that I ask is the University of South Carolina not do to Steve Spurrier what has already been done to Lou Holtz.
How many well-know and well-respected (used to be, anyway) coaches will The University of South Carolina's "Football Program" destroy???
The former great Lou Holtz is currently downgraded to putting on a ball cap and standing in front of a chalkboard, of all things, on national television!
Steve Spurrier, unfortunately, will suffer a similar fate or worse.
The University of South Carolina needs to stop abusing great coaches and their respective reputations!
You Cock-heads untie Mr. Spurrier and let your so-called "Darth Visor" go back to Florida!
King Rooster, I respect your decision to abandon the dwindling legions of Cock-heads and you have my respect and sympathy.
You are welcome to Death Valley at any time, my friend! We will teach you how to TRULY overcome adversity rather than depending on a big-name coach. Welcome to TRUE FOOTBALL!

I'm a Carolina fan and I will say that Carolina played a great game against Clemson. They played better in that game than they have all season and the coaches finally changed things up a good bit and that made a huge difference. It's actually really sad that they waited till now to show that they can play good, clean, aggressive ball. There's no need to talk a lot of smack about Clemson... there's no reason to drop to that level. I just hope that Carolina plays well in a bowl game and that the team (AND COACHES) go into next season (all season) with the same spirit they showed in this last game against Clemson.

BTW, I thought you had given up on the Gamecocks as of last year. You fair-weather hen, you! LOL

I did give up on them, I'm thru with those fowl creatures.
They may have beat the tigers but they still choked on the bowl game.

I think *choked* may be the understatement of the year when it comes to how USC performed at that bowl game. Oh man... that was painful. But... as a USC fan... I'll pull out the jersey next year and hope for the best.

I heard that the CAROLINA Baseball Team WON the Collage World Series!
Can you confirm or deny this for me?

40,000 folks downtown on Friday for the Gamecock National Champions parade confirmed that quite well!

It was the "college" world series, not the "collage" world series. I know that all of the Clemson fans were crying after the loss and the classy Clemson fans later on rooted to have USC bring the title to our home state.
It was funny how all of the sudden everyone temporarily gave a damn about baseball, both on the orange and garnet side.
I could care less because I am a fan and graduate of UNC.
