NASA SCIENTIST: PUT OIL CHIEFS ON TRIAL FOR SPREADING DOUBT ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING... (http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2008/jun/23/fossilfuels.climatechange)

So much for the free exchange of ideas; disagree and go on trial.

WHAT???

I guess if that's the case, the oil companies should put the scientists (and Al Gore) on trial for spreading mass hysteria and lies.

After that, they can put the world's volcanoes on trial for polluting, as well.

Don't forget the cows...

Yep, those cow poots really add up!

Don't forget those oceans, either. Water vapor is the most common greenhouse gas and does the most 'greenhousing' per unit.

Monty Python had a lot to say about the Spanish Inquisition. Let's not forget them.

Actually the Spanish Inquisition was mostly against Jews, unlike some other inquisitions. The king had finally driven the Moors from Spain and now he wanted the Jews out of there too.

A lot of them fled north, many to Scotland, where they became invaluable to the Scottish kings as bankers, businessmen, accountants, etc.

But don't blame haggis on them.

For the less adventurous among us, they now make all-beef haggis that has never seen a bladder.

That's progress!

"Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!"

"Cardinal! Poke her with the soft cushions!"

"She's made of harder stuff! Put her in.....the COMFY CHAIR!!!"

"Boy the way Glenn Miller played songs that made the hit parade,
Guys like us we had it made, Those were the DA-A-A-A-A-YS!!!"

Haggis = :vom:

I tried the real thing in Scotland years ago. I figured, Hey, I'm of Scottish heritage...might as well try it. Worst thing I ever ate.

I also am of Scottish heritage. In fact most people of European descent in the southeastern US are of Scots-Irish origin.

But I will not try real haggis. I've seen it, had the misfortune to smell it. The guys in the kilts that eat it are like the ones who want to show everybody that they can eat a hotter pepper than anybody else. It's Russian roulette.

(Russian roulette, by the way, is a real thing in Russian history, probably still exists. Drunk army officers would put one bullet in a revolver and pass it around the table until somebody blew their head off. They would also take what we would call a "tea glass" of vodka, stand in an open, very high window, and chug it all at once. Of course many of them died. The closest thing to space aliens on the planet.)

There may be worse things in life than haggis.

Here's a pic of a menu from a restaurant in Chnatown. The dishes were displayed in the window, but I couldn't get a picture for the glare.

I didn't try it, even at three bucks a pound.

You won't find this Scot descendant eating haggis. I don't even joke about it.

I will admit the nastiest meal I ever had was fish and sweet ptoatoes. It was hurl-a-rific!

You ought to wake up in a boat in the middle of Santee after catfishing all night and the only thing available for breakfast is warm beer and butterscotch pudding.

It'll set you free.

You should try it with potted meat instead. Wal-mart bag full of dung is completely optional.

Why would you keep a bag of dung when you could release the brown trout straight into its natural habitat?

Warm beer and butterscotch pudding (warm, too, I'm assuming), eh? You, sir, are a true badazz.

Please, let's not go there.

That's not a bad price on the country squid.
