In the wake of becoming the most well-known global warming alarmist, Gore won an Oscar, a Grammy and the Nobel Peace Prize. In addition, Gore saw his personal wealth increase by an estimated $100 million thanks largely to speaking fees and investments related to global warming hysteria.

“Actions speak louder than words, and Gore’s actions prove that he views climate change not as a serious problem, but as a money-making opportunity,” Johnson said. “Gore is exploiting the public’s concern about the environment to line his pockets and enhance his profile.”

I wonder if he'll get the chance to swap my Arizona oceanfront property for those carbon credits I've been wanting.

Gore, like most politicians, is in it for the Benjamins.

Thank you for recognizing that and NOT justifying it with an anti-Bush remark. Kudos!

I would replace "most" with "almost all". And the "almost" is just there to include future miracles.

It has become nearly impossible (and I'm talking from a LONG way back) for truly decent folks to go into politics or indeed into any public service in which there are political considerations. Generally this would be the ones where the public servant has direct contact with the public, like teaching or law enforcement or similar things. We are suffering greatly because of it.

I know that Obama is not any ideal person. I know that he has flaws. I'm just saying that he is the best choice that we've had in a long time. The fact that he went into legal aid after editing Harvard Law Review shows me a lot of character and I admire it, and him, greatly. McCain is a true American military hero, but I think maybe he has been in Congress just a little too long plus he is too slow to distance himself from the Bush, who approval rating is SO low that for once I find myself in the majority on a political issue. Gore lost the 2000 election (or did he?) I think in large part because he was too slow to distance himself from Mr. Bill.

I expect that history will repeat.

Actually, i would say that Mr Gore is not president because he *did* distance himself from Mr Bill. Mr Bill was really popular.

And Al is making some good money. That's what capitalism is supposed to be all about, isn't it?!?

Barack Obama is not the be-all/end-all either, but he does offer a vision of a better tomorrow - something no polititian has been able to do since JFK. (JFK's Campagn song was "High Hopes.") And no, HE will not be able to create that better tomorrow. WE have to create it. He is merely that small glimmer of light in an otherwise dank and dark Washington.
