I believe this incarnation of the Entertainment Complex is better than the last incarnation which screamed, "scam."
So far, so good....

This past weekend’s three-day Country MusicFest was the first large scale musical event in the area. The owners and operators of the Complex say they are pleased with the turnout and performances and that they are turning a desolate venue into a facility that can welcome the nation’s top artists and thousands of their fans. With a number of vendors on the scene and Marion County residents getting some extra income as event staffers, music lovers were treated to good food and prizes, not to mention the bands performing on the grounds with live web casts of the festival.
“We feel it turned out pretty well, it’s our first year with this type of event in the area ... it takes a couple of seasons to cultivate so that families can plan vacations around it. We’re hoping to have it grow into four or five days,” managing partner Henry Zukowski said Saturday. He added that he was happy with the folks who attended and with the performers. “The line-up that we did for the three days was incredible. Everybody is on the charts,” he said. Local talent was a great highlight, too, he said, with the singer showdown talent contest taking place.
General Manager Bob Sewak, who recently joined the group, said the venue has been worked on for more than two years, and that everything that allows this management group to have such an event wasn’t in place until now. “There were four acts that were important as far as entertainment was concerned — Gretchen Wilson, Lynard Skynard, Hank Williams Jr. and Sugarland. The fifth act, and the best act in my opinion was the facility,” Sewak said.
With a capacity of 37,000, as many as 12,000 reportedly attended the Friday night shows, with about 7,000 attending the Thursday show and at least 7,000 were expected to attend Saturday’s shows.
The artist feedback was great in regards to the venue and stage, Sewak said, adding “Let’s see what happens next.”

Cantestr8, that's BS, apparently you must have been the one drunk b/c I saw all of the major evening acts, met the performers back stage and never saw the first sign of any performer being the least bit intoxicated. In fact, some of them worked out at a local gym prior to their performance and were not even drinking. Pls. tell us what performer you saw drunk that could not complete a song? Must have been some good drugs you were on???

One vendor told me he lost money on the event , I understand most of them did. Anyone else heard from any of the vendors?

Like I stated before. There was a show set once where no one, even the artist, didn't show up. Come to find out, the artist called and said that he was going to stay at the beach. The complex is a good idea but not in Marion. Why would anyone want to stop in Marion when the beach is just a few more miles down the road. Everyone lost money on that show.
