PERCY SLEDGE HAMMERS HOME THE HITS FOR BAPTIST CHILDREN`S
HOMES MAY 23 & 24 IN MAGGIE VALLEY NC
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Percy Sledge, known for his many hits including 'When A Man Loves a Woman' will be making his last stop in the US before his summer swing in Europe over in Maggie Valley at the acoustically perfect Eaglenest Entertainment Theatre on Friday and Saurday Night, May 23rd & 24th.
The Percy Sledge Show encourages all to bring a little extra to either or both shows to benefit Broyhill Baptist Childrens Homes as their representative will be on hand at both shows accepting donations.
"Eaglenest only has 796 seats and they are going fast with the
'Vettes in the Valley' Corvette people coming to town, we have made arrangements to get 204 more into the theater and if we get can to that, I hope to make a substancial donation to BCH" said show promoter Duane Goins.
"This is not a festival or night club show, but a full blown concert in an alcohol free environment and Percy will be accompanied by a great band with real horns to get that famous sound."
"We hope to have local veterans from Waynesville present the colors before the show and we intend to recognize them and their military as they are the reason we can come together on occasions like this and still call the wars of the past ' foreign' wars.
Backed up by Stuart Virginias` Sunset Drive and their big horn style, & back up singers, its` ‘Tux After Seven’ for the 'Golden Voice of Soul' & this talented group of musicians that have performed with ‘The King of Slow Soul’ at Lincoln Center & Good Morning America.
They will play this last stop in the U S before a tour of The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, & Sweden. 'The Percy Sledge Show’ returns to the States in September at Los Angeles Sports Arena.
When ‘The Louisiana Legend’ takes to the stage, it will be a grand journey through all the hits that accompanied all the cruisers, young and old, down through the ages.
