View Full Version : Obama even with Clinton in California

CNN was reporting last night that Clinton leads Obama by only two points in California, which statistically is pretty much even.

This Tuesday will be real interesting. Even the female impersonator Ann Coulter has said she'd vote for Hillary before McCain. Can you believe that?

And with comedian Rush Limbo attacking McCain constantly, I think it's almost for sure that we'll have a Democrat in the White House, and that it will likely be Obama!

We've waited a long time for this. I think that Obama is capable of following through on his campaign promises. Let's give him a Congress that he can work with.

CNN poll this morning shows Obama/Hillary 49/46, and Oprah and Stevie Wonder are going out to say a few words.

Gonna be a long day on the campaign trail, you betcha.

What are his campaign promises? Please enlighten me.

And who is the we you speak of in "We've waited a long time for this"?

You can include me in the "we". Here is a partial list of President Bush's actions which concern me greatly. He has:

Taken, in the wake of the terrorist attacks three years ago, the greatest worldwide outpouring of goodwill the United States has enjoyed at least since World War II and squandered it by insisting on pursuing a foolish go-it-almost-alone invasion of Iraq, thereby transforming almost universal support for the United States into worldwide condemnation.
Promoted the extraordinarily dangerous doctrine of preemptive war.
Presided over the loss of more than a million American jobs, the worst record since Herbert Hoover.
Misled the American public about weapons of mass destruction and alleged ties to Al-Qaida in Iraq and so led us into a war that has plainly and predictably made us less secure, caused a boom in the recruitment of terrorists, is killing American military personnel needlessly and is threatening to suck up all our available military forces and be a bottomless pit for the money of American taxpayers for years to come.
Failed to follow through in Afghanistan, where the Taliban and Al-Qaida are regrouping, once more increasing the threat to our people.
Insulted and ridiculed other nations and international organizations and then found it necessary to go, hat in hand, to those nations and organizations begging for their assistance.
Inherited an annual federal budget surplus of $230 billion and transformed it into a $400-plus billion deficit. This is the worst in our history.
Perhaps worst of all, wrapped himself in the flag and used the horrors of 9/11 to divert the voters' attention from the disasters that his policies have produced.

It HAS been a long time, a very, very long time indeed.

Well explained, L.

And as far as the "we" is concerned, it is not just Lakal and me. I speak of the American people. Even those who are not quite up to seeing to their own well-being will benefit from President Obama's statesmanship and leadership, as well as the people who have watched in horror and with full knowledge as previous administrations have made one obviously foolish (and often dishonest, and certainly un-American) move after another. We are thankful that even comedian Rush Limbo and female impersonator Ann Coulter have finally seen it our way.

So just relax and cast your red (wasn't that the color of Communism?) vote and prepare to bash those who would bash your new commander in chief.

It's a great day a'comin'. Hallelu, Hallelu!!

Again, no reason to vote for Obama just a Bush Bashing.

Tho no one has attacked the US in 7 yrs. he still made a mistake? Less secure? Are you insane?
American Military will be killed in War. We don't draft, it is voluntary enlistment.
You are no more than a worthless hippie. Get a grip and tell me why Hussein Obama should be the Pres.

If I could still grow hair I'd let it wear off dragging on the ground and boogie 'til the cows came home. Them WAS the days. Sorry you missed them.

"Worthless" hippie?

I guarantee I could buy and sell you every day, Cowpieboy.

You don't seem to know anything, do you? Are you sure you're not one of those trolls just trying to stir stuff up?

How do you feel about Rush Limbo calling for what would basically be the end of the Republican party? I'd be interested to know.

Obama has given out the information you request just about every time he has spoken in public for months. You haven't been listening. No reason why we should do the work for you. Look it up.

What about the Rush Limbo thing?

My goodness, Mr. Cowboy - do you not know how to look stuff up? Do you really want to hear what Mr. Obama stands for? Get a grip for goodness sake! ;-) Permit this 'worthless hippie" to direct you here: http://origin.barackobama.com/issues/ and you can read specific action plans in a number of different areas by the man himself.

"Affordable, High-Quality Child Care: Obama will also provide affordable and high-quality child care to ease the burden on working families"

These are the type of BS promises that sway you to vote for Obama? Hell even Swampfox could make a list of feel-good things that he will "Change"! But explain how he will do it is a different story.
If he wins, we will be in for 4 years of smoke up our butts with these petty promises and NO action! At least MY President took some action. When he said he was gonna do something, he did it.
Swamp, I doubt you could buy much of anything on a teacher's salary. During Bush's 2 terms I developed and sold an internet web service. So when you hippie bums are out saving the silver-billed lake loon, we hard working Republicans keep the economy running in the US. Now does that stir stuff up?

I don't teach because I have to. I teach because I want to. I'm not doing it in classrooms anymore because that was just getting to be an exercise in futility. One of the biggest reasons for that was the "No Child Left Behind" law, one of the Bush's proudest achievements. Yes, he took some action all right.

Please don't go away after the elections, Cow-dude. You're sort of a cartoon-like character of the type of people who still think that Bush has anything going for him.

It's unfortunate that Mrs. Bush's popularity has fallen sharply too, as I saw on the news last night. On matters of character and substance she was way ahead of her husband.

Notice how none of the Republican candidates speak of Bush. It's the first time in my experience that a sitting president's endorsement was not highly sought after. I don't think that's because of my opinion. Don't expect any congressional candidates to be seeking it either. He is a pariah in his own party.
