This was just too good. Dated today:

Huckabee challenges Romney over fried chicken

PENSACOLA, Florida (CNN) – Mitt Romney's failure to eat fried chicken with the skin on is nothing short of blasphemy here in the South, according to GOP rival Mike Huckabee.

Romney, of Massachusetts, dug into a piece fried chicken at KFC while campaigning in Lutz, Florida on Saturday, but not before peeling off what most would consider the best part — the crispy skin.

Admittedly, KFC's chicken doesn't exactly stack up against the delectable kind that comes out of deep fryers in kitchens around the South, and Romney said he was looking for the healthiest option available to him for lunch.

Huckabee, looking ahead to a flotilla of southern states up for grabs on Super Tuesday, was told about the move by a reporter here in the Florida panhandle.

"I can tell you this," he said, "any Southerner knows if you don’t eat the skin don’t bother calling it fried chicken."

"So that's good. I'm glad that he did that, because that means I'm going to win Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma … all these great Southern states that understand the best part of fried chicken is the skin, if you're going to eat it that way."

Huckabee admitted that he hasn't eaten fried chicken in a while because of his weight loss program, preferring it broiled or baked instead.

And speaking of possible gaffes, a good Southerner might also dispute one of Huckabee's claims: since when is Oklahoma "a great southern state"?

It would be so nice if that moron got the nomination. Fried-F*cking-Chicken as a campaign issue. What's next?!? Over or under toilet paper rolls??

Odd, perhaps, but I find this kind of thing more heartening than the usual political news.

Now it's on to Burger King! Hold the pickles, OR the lettuce, but not both. And how about some of those previously frozen onion rings, MR. or MS. Candidate? Huh?

And then a good Chinese buffet. Chopsticks, or just stick your face in the plate? No fork! No fork!

Carrying on the fast food theme, McDonald's has won approval to offer courses which could form part of a qualification at the standard of A-levels or advanced Diplomas.

I wonder what Mitt will do if they offer him a chitlin at one of his stops?

I imagine Mitt would put in an emergency call to his home chef to ask for advice.

Maybe somebody will offer him a raw one.

I originally wanted a McDonald's degree, but back then they weren't offering scholarships so I couldn't afford it.

I did manage to audit a course called "Biggus Maccus". Enjoyed the heck out of it.

Just as well.

What would you do with a degree in Hamburgerology today, anyway?

Well, we could use some to teach in the high schools if we decide to get practical about the thing.

Well, I'm an over guy, but under isn't a deal breaker for me.

Tsk...tsk... And I had such hope for you... Under is correct.

But over works better. Fewer snags.

I'm going to have to call you on this designation of correctness.

Best chitlin's I ever ate were on Christmas Eve 1981 in Boston. My upstairs neighbor Evelyn (sister to my landlord) made them. After eating, they dragged me through the projects visiting relatives. The only white guy for miles around. It was a very strange - but also very fun evening. And those chitlins were excellent.

Thank you! But... I'm rather surprised that virtauuly everyone was an OVER when UNDER is really much better...

For instance... when a toddler wanders into the bathroom and starts hitting that roll with his (it's usually a male child) little hand, the paper goes all over the place - it just unwinds for days. HOWEVER - if the roll is placed UNDER, it merely spins. No paper mess anywhere.

Same holds true with having a cat in the house. Kitty latches on to the paper and kitty makes a big mess. UNDER paper - no problem.

And if I walked into a friend's house and saw the toilet paper folded in the little hotel point, I would mock them severely..... it's what friends do.

Down here we use corncobs as much as possible to save money. The rich folks keep them in a basket. Poor folks like us just stack them in the corner until they're needed.

The really poor folks here can't even afford corncobs. They use green pine cones.

We tried old campaign posters for a while, but they were far too irritating.
