Two more people were "asked to resign" recently due to yet another sex scandal. I makes one wonder how justice is handed out at The Love Shack better known as LCSD. It's been mentioned on this forum that Harrison was fired for an alleged sexual escapade. It's also been mentioned that Nicole Howland was not. Now my point to ponder is who did she sleep with in order to not get "asked to resign" when these other folks were not given the same opportunity? Or could it be that she and the married narc (who did not work for Harrison when he was Sgt.) didn't commit their act during an election year. Perhaps these other two are a victim of circumstance maybe and were "asked to resign" because it's close to the election and Harrison can't look singled out for what he supposedly did? Sounds like the summer of love never ended in Lexington County.

You've got the "Love Doctor" a.k.a "Shaggin' Jimmy" all wrong! He's cool with the girl-boy thing. As long as it takes place somewhere in the Rockies...somewhere in Colorado....somewhere around Aspen.....They think he's a real southern gentleman out west.......

Southern Maybe. Gentleman, not in this lifetime. Grabbing crotches aside. Metts has his own little tete' going with a long-term female who obviously isn't offended by his crotch grabbing. Oh, well, I guess his thoughts are if
the President of the United States did it and got away with it, then the doors open for him too right? Think about that one people. Did Clinton get fired for doing the intern? No, he wasn't re-elected, but that had a lot to do with the job he did, NOT WHO HE DID!!! And we knew without a shadow of a doubt that " he had sex with that woman"!
Yet, on this forum I have read where Harrison is condemend for allegedy having sex with someone. I repeat. "Allegedy". No proof, no facts, no big deal! The more I read, the more I see that Metts has a double standard for the people who he likes. He was willing to go off of heresay and terminate Harrison because Harrison would not resign for something he was adamant he did not do. Yet, here we go, women in the office doing other deputies, deputies doing other deputies and the big Crotch man, sitting on his fat duff, doing someone hisself and trying to preach wrong doing to someone who from all the speculation and heresay I have seen and heard, he didn't even have proof. That is considered wrongful termination.
Why doesn't that make him eligible for termination under his no sex law at the County? Oops, thats right. That only applies to the employees who kiss his ass. Just like the Supervisor that made the allegations against Harrison. That's amazing. Harrison's ordeal is based upon sheer speculation and conjecture. There is no proof, never has been. Yet, right under crotch boys nose sits a whole lot of "Sex in the City" and he has nothing to say about it. No reprecussions for their actions, no speculation or allegations mentioned within the department. Nothing. Jimmy is just fine with his pets doing the nasty at the County with other men and womens spouses. Smooth Jimmy, real smooth! Next, you'll start giving them a free room at your Gentlemans club on Old Dunbar Rd, so they don't get busted in your Department and the media doesn't get wind of it!
Can we say class act anyone? Because that is the word of the Day. Harrison is a class act and Metts. Well??? Could someone PLEASE take out the TRASH, it's starting to reek in here!!!
On a positive note, I do commend Harrison for not trying to take our tax dollars and continue to sue the County over this. I like his pro-active approach of just getting into LCSD and making the necessary productive changes that need to be made with the funds they have.

I hope the Sheriff is noticing that Nicole Howland is REALLY REALLY REALLY bringing him down in the polls - why does she continue NOT to be fired for having an affair with a married man?

Nicole Howland and her married narc are not the first ones that someone looked the other way for. What about the Detective Sgt. who got caught screwing around twice (once with another employee) and still has a job. He even got promoted to Sgt. after all that crap with the video taped suspect and the Federal Indictment. As for Jimmy having a Miss Thang...that's just gross!

I agree Sugarfree. It is GROSS!!! Man, who the hell would imagine that there would actually be two people in this world willing to go that route with ole Jimmy? One word.. Ewwwwww...
As for Nicole Howland and the other Sgt that they have actually documented as having these little tete's. That is another prime example of abusing your authority and our labor laws. It's pretty sad when the person who is supposed to be enforcing the laws is the one who constantly allows them to be broken in his own backyard.
Frustrating.. Really, frustrating!!!

Dondi:
First the obvious:
Sexual Discrmination:
Courts interpreting the statutes have held that sex discrimination involves a comparison of one gender to the other that results in differing treatment, and that claims may be brought by members of either gender.
Example:
(i.e., if you terminate one employee for having sex with another employee or employee's spouse then the same practice should be applied to both genders). Secondly, when you terminate an employee for having sex, unless it was documented on the job (ie., PROVEN that it happened and ON THE CLOCK) It is an ivasion of privacy and a personal matter that cannot be disciplined or goverened by and Employers policy or procedure.
Sexual Harrassment:
Is a form of sex discrimination that violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Title VII applies to employers with 15 or more employees, including state and local governments. It also applies to employment agencies and to labor organizations, as well as to the federal government.
Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature constitute sexual harassment when this conduct explicitly or implicitly affects an individual's employment, unreasonably interferes with an individual's work performance, or creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive work environment.
Sexual harassment can occur in a variety of circumstances, including but not limited to the following:
The victim as well as the harasser may be a woman or a man. The victim does not have to be of the opposite sex.
The harasser can be the victim's supervisor, an agent of the employer, a supervisor in another area, a co-worker, or a non-employee.
The victim does not have to be the person harassed but could be anyone affected by the offensive conduct.
Unlawful sexual harassment may occur without economic injury to or discharge of the victim.
The harasser's conduct must be unwelcome.
Reverse Discrimination:
This typically occurs when members of one group claim that an effort to promote diversity in the workplace has, in fact, had a discriminatory impact. In the gender context, this usually means a claim by male workers that an affirmative action program directed at women has had a discriminatory impact on men. Employers who opt or are required to implement affirmative action programs should take care to ensure that these programs are structured and implemented fairly.
As you can see, these are just a few areas of breaking the labor and employment law. LCSD has several violations that could and are documented. However, the problem is when they are brought forth, the employees receive retrobution (i.e, they are terminated or their jobs are threatened and they become compliant to allow the Metts/James and whoevers to continue with their harrassment and unfair and unprofessional business tactics.
There are more violations that I can quote if I chose to dig more into this matter. I have enough to make a very good decision in who my vote is going to be with in this election. Employers such as Metts/James sicken me and give HR people a job from hell. They know nothing and expect their personnel and HR people to sit idle by and allow them to continue with their inhouse law breaking and misconduct.
If it were not my tax dollars that were being used to pay off the screwup of the Sheriff Department, I would definately have encouraged Harrison to pursue this in court. I appreciate his willingness to spare us more tax increases by taking a pro-active approach to make certain that nothing like this happens to the current and future employees of LCSD. Unlike Metts, Harrison does apparrently have knowledge of EEOC and fair practice of employment. In addition, despite the gossip mongers on here with no proof of Harrison and the allegations, he has more morales than any of the higher ups in the Sheriffs Department. Especially Metts.

I forgot to include a few interesting statistics.
It is also unlawful to retaliate against an individual for opposing employment practices that discriminate based on sex or for filing a discrimination charge, testifying, or participating in any way in an investigation, proceeding, or litigation under Title VII.
Statistics. In Fiscal Year 2003, EEOC received 15,396 charges of sexual harassment. Almost 15% of those charges were filed by males. EEOC resolved 15,792 sexual harassment charges in FY 2002 and recovered $50.3 million in monetary benefits for charging parties and other aggrieved individuals (not including monetary benefits obtained through litigation).
As you can see, these are staggering numbers and could have potentially cost the tax payers a large amount of money overall. Litigation for these type of cases are not only very costly, but inevitably tear down the infrastructure of a deparment or organization. Everyone walks on eggshells or feel they will become the next target. When management refuses to treat all employees fairly the work enviornment becomes unstable and the morale decreases. Take note of the comments on the other topics of this forum with regards to morale in the our Lexington County Sheriffs Department. Being a Deputy is a difficult job as it is. Now you add scandals and innuendos and slander to their plates in their own back yards. It makes it very difficult for them to be able to focus on task at hand and not worry to about the security of their jobs and income of their families.

Don't get all mad at me but I am still confused. Can't the Sheriff fire an employee for moral turpitude? I didn't think it mattered who was envolved.
From all I have heard Metts just used the first handy excuse he came across to can Harrison and left him to defend hisself against somthing he could not prove didn't happen.
From what I get here, the LCSD is nothing but a glory hole with uniforms. I don't want to have anything to do with those people. Why should we bother. It sounds like they all deserve each other.

Dondi, do not let your heart be troubled my friend. All this talk of sexual misconduct is nothing but a “red herring” meant to distract you from what really went down over on Gibson Road. Do you really care what adults do on their own time in private? I don’t think it amounts to anything and harms no one but those involved in it.
What you should be concerned about is that a careless accusation could and was used to ruin someone, like Harrison, for ulterior motives.
Look at the facts. There is currently an individual employed at the LCSD who has been caught having “intimate relations” on TWO occasions. In addition, he was caught up in an investigative scandal that required the attention of the federal authorities. What happened? Nothing. It wasn’t inconvenient to let him stay where he is.
Now look at Harrison’s situation. Up until Jimmy fired him, there were absolutely no complaints about him or the other members of the narcotics unit. Now, all of sudden, Harrison and everybody he worked with was a bumbling misfit that could not keep up with the “operational tempo” over on Gibson Road. Apparently, most were not bumbling enough to terminate. However, some bimbo makes an unsubstantiated charge and Jimmy can’t fire Harrison fast enough.
What was the ulterior motive? You don’t have to be a detective to figure this one out. Harrison wasn’t even out of the parking lot before Tim James was packing the narcotics unit with the friends he had brought over from Cayce Police Department. That would be the infamous ACE team (All Cayce Employees). Tim’s mistake was that he thought nobody was watching and, even worse, that no one would care. After all, the Sheriff can do anything he wants to can’t he? That may have been true many times in the past, but not this time. This time the whole department got the message. If they (Timmy and Jimmy) will screw over a deputy who has given years of devoted service and done a commendable job, what will they do to me? That’s why the majority of the department is ready to dump the Sheriff. It is a matter of self preservation.
And what about those of us in the general public? Personally, if the people who work at the Sheriff’s Department can’t trust Jimmy and Timmy how am I supposed to trust him. If nothing else were to be said, I just wouldn’t vote for an asshole that treats people that way or allows his assistant to treat people that way.
Dondi, it ain’t about sex it is about arrogance, abuse of power, and cover up.

Miles, Miles, Miles. All Cayce Unit? Who is on the Multi Agency Narcotics Enforecment Team? Let's look, the head of the team is Amick, arguably one of the best investigators produced by the Sheriff's department in recent years, who I might add worked for Myers on death penalty cases for years dealing with the most complex cases in the county. Then you have several other members of the Sheriff's Department, only one of which worked for Tim in Cayce, who is an excellent officer. The remaining members of the team are actually members of other agencies. I believe that Cayce has at least one member, maybe 2. Other municipalities have members on the team also. The MANET is not full of Cayce officers as you say. Also Chief McNair and Tim get along great and there never was a sole that left Cayce for fear of being fired. Actually Cayce had the best reputation for case production in the county under Tim. It appears that you do not understand what you speak of.

Oh yea, "its all about abuse of power and cover up." Every employee at the Sheriff's office works at the pleasure of the Sheriff. At any moment anyone can be fired for no reason. That is why there was not a law suit, not because Harrison is a great guy for deciding not to sue. He did not have a case. And what is all of this about a cover up? What is being covered up? Who is covering it up? I do not know anything about a sex scandal, but if an officer has an affair with another officers wife, that would appear to be a safety issue. Dont know if that had anything to do with whatever happened but it makes sence, you know, with shoot outs and all.

Harrison would of had a case had he persisted with the law suit. I don't know about all the banter about the Cayce members joining LCSD.
But, I can tell you that had this gone to a jury trial, Harrison would have walked away with a chunk of our tax paying dollars. You have to rely on history and facts.
History, shows that Harrison had a good police record and was highly recognized. History shows his job performance was above standard and that he had no repremands or derragutory conduct or notes on his employment records.
Statistics show that police officers carry one of the highest divorce rates in the country. Yet, history shows that Harrison has been married much longer that statistics alot.
If Harrison truly did sleep with this man's wife, there is no way Harrisons wife would have put up with it. Because all that aside fellas, us females, don't like to share our men. Especially with depressed, guttersluts like his previous supervisors wife.
As for facts and history: It shows that this woman had a history of promescuity. Secondly, she had a history of depression and was verbally telling individuals of her disatisfaction with her marriage all completely proveable in the court of law. Also, there was the fact that no one bothered to check into. The alleged hotel records. Harrison was in another place with a high profile individual and his attorney during the time the alleged affair was taking place. Oh my. He must be a very talented man to be able to conduct business and tap her ass at the same time.
This is not about cover up people. This is about an interdepartmental, monumental HR screwup that took place because Joel got his manhood stepped on because his wife got pissed and threw a name out at him that she knew would deflate him.
Also, a little fact and History: Harrison's marriage is still strong and intact. History and facts Wyatt. Not conjecture and speculation. As I have said to everyone else who tried this BS. Put up or shut up. If you can't step out here with proven facts, then take your ass to Jimmys forum and kiss his ass a little more. Because two things you have going against you. This generation of voters are EDUCATED AND FED UP WITH METTS.. We were just looking for a good reason and candidate to send his ass packing and we were lucky enough to get Harrison to step up to the plate.
See you at the polls!!! Time is a wasting.. HARRISON FOR SHERIFF 2004!!!

I forgot to mention one more thing there Wyatt. If everyone were to be fired for Allegedly having an affair the whole dang police department would be about shut down right now. Which proves my point.
Who you sleep with whether truth or speculation does not make or break a Sheriff. As for the person who mentioned Morale Turpetude! Get real, we have volunteer citizens coaching our children at the football and baseball complexes who are felons, petifiles etc.. And we can't get the county to do a damn thing to help screen these people. Yet, your worried about morale turpetude in the Sheriffs Department because someone may or may not have slept with another mans wife who by the way was NOT employed at the Sheriffs Department.
Your focus is in the wrong direction. Your focus should be with me and these other people who are trying to be proactive and clean up this community. We need laws in place that run REAL Background Checks on people who volunteer in youth recreational activities and events. Oh, no. We can't worry about the real issues in our County like drugs, gangs, domestic violence etc.. No, we have to worry about who's doing who within our Sheriffs Department because life is just grand in the real world and nothing!!! GET REAL PEOPLE!!!! Get out and vote so we can get someone in this position who will make a REAL difference in OUR COMMUNITY!!!

I just posted some questions, which even you have not answered. I have only pointed out that hiring and firing is at the descretion of the Sheriff. I keep hearing all this dribble about affair, but it all seems to come from Harrison supporters. I certainly have not brought it up nor do I support either candidate at this point. I am looking for answers, and am trying to give insight that I have. I do not know if there was an affair or why Harrison was fired. I would like to know. Maybe its because I know some things which are true, other things I don't know so I ask. I believe that he who thinks he knows everything actually knows nothing in the end. I also do not act as though I know things I dont. In the end the truth always come out and the loss of credibility isn't worth pretending to have information I don't.

THANK YOU SPUD!!!!! Godness, finally someone who sees the truth. Further, Reality, if you are what you say as far as human resources, then I would expect that you are versed in SC employment law. You see, SC is a right to work state, which means, on the reverse side, a right to fire state. In simpler terms, unless there is an employment contract, an employer can fire an employee for no reason at all. I am not aware of any employment contract at the Sheriff's office, therefore everyone works at the will of whoever the Sheriff is, and further, since he is an elected official, his employees work outside of the County regulations as far as hiring and firing. Harrison never had a case because of all of this. I keep hearing that Metts supporters are spinning an evil web, but only Harrison supporters keep talking about sex and perversion. When the day is through Harrison was fired. No reason was ever needed, and I believe, none given. End of story, and end of Harrison's law suit. As I said before, this insinuation that Harrison dropped his lawsuit for the good of the County is crazy. Under the laws, he never had a case to begin with, therefore, he waisted County money to begin a defense of a baseless case. Sad.

Right to hire, right to fire, right to vote. That last one is the kicker Wyatt. Last night I was at a sports bar in Irmo. Some of the folks were singing a new tune entitled "Jimmy grabbed his crotch and nothing was there" sung to the tune of "Jimmy Cracked Corn." It is not quite as good as the Crotch Doctor's jingle about David Beasley, but it still got a pretty good reception. As if his hiring and firing practices are not fouled up enough, how about his money raising tactics? How about showing up for work once in a while, what about appearing before Council on occassion? He has a doctorate in education but doesn't have a clue about what is going on in the schools in Lexington County. What can you say about a Sheriff who gets caught by surprise by a courthouse suddenly appearing in his jurisdiction. Why are you so concerned about him keeping a job that he acts like he doesn't care about or want? I have yet to meet a single person who is adamant about supporting the Crotch Man. I think his days as Sheriff will come to a close on June 8th. I am voting for Harrison and I am encouraging everyone I know to do the same.

Potatoe Head AKA Spud. If the action could be proven why didn't they willingly give Harrison the proof they had at the time of termination? Do you Metts supporters ever think outside the box? Or is your head just that far in the sand.
You are also very misinformed. Cases such as Harrisons could potentially linger in the backed up Judicial system for years. There was no almost coming to a close in his case. It was like I stated earlier and factually, Harrison chose to be proactive about his situation. Instead of whining and taking our tax dollars, he chose to right the wrong by taking back the Sheriffs office and allowing the Citizens who vote to have a decent election year with competition. Theres nothing wrong with healthy competition Spud. Suck it up for crying out loud and let the votes stand. Your mud slinging is just like what I would expect from a Metts campaign. Just like on the other forum. You and Wyatt need to not throw stones when you live in glass houses yourself. Because come Voter Day on June 8th.. That glass is going to cut my friend.

DVM, I am not a proponent of either candidate, just truth. I think Jimmy Metts has done a good job in the past. (My family is safe.) But there is always good in change. The longer someone is in an elected office, the more baggage gets picked up and draggs the whole operation down. I am not blind. I just do not like insinuations and bold faced lies to stand about anyone. I do not back either candidate at this point. I applaud your response since it did not drop into the sewage like so many others by starting namecalling and lies. I drop in from time to time to try and see if I can find out some information about the candidates on different races. I have however found that this board is full of Harrison supporters who will defend him to the death. Maybe that is showing that the county has changed, and if so congrats to Larry. That is the american way. There just seems to be so many lies on here with absolutly no proof. That bothers me.

I think everyone is missing Wyatt's point. He is trying to initiate a new campaign strategy for Metts. They wanted to discredit Harrison over an alledged affair and that didn't work. Then they wanted to say that Harrison didn't have any experience to handle the job but then someone remembered that Harrison will bring more experience to the Office than Metts did when he was first elected. Hmmmmm, that didn't work! Okay, let's try he was fired. No, that Sheriff in Richland County was fired before he got elected; so that's not going to work! OH, I got it now, Harrison doesn't deserve to be Sheriff because his campaign is just a personal vendetta!
Sad, so very, very sad!

Since viewing this web site after seeing it published in The State Newspaper, I keep reading where the sheriff has had several affairs. So far I have seen where he has had one with someone in N.C., Georgia, S.C. and now Colorado. What's up with him? When he was up for re-election I kept hearing some stuff but didn't put too much into it, but now after reading all of this I can't help but wonder if some of it is true.

Don't be showing people your bone now. I'm pretty sure you could get in trouble for that, and it may not be with the law!!
Remember how Adam and Eve had to cover themselves with fig leaves when they found that they were naked? There's lots of fig bushes around here. It will do for a start.

This reminds me of an old episode of Unsolved Mysteries. Guy's wife disappears and they never find her. But, in the course on investigation, they find a bone in the husband's BBQ in the back yard. Turned out to be a finger bone. The searched the backyard and found something like 140 finger bones belonging to 13 different people, none of which they could match with a missing person. It kinda looked like he was BBQ'ing them up, eating them like wings, and tossing the bones in the yard.
Maybe that's what they're talking about.

I think Taco Bell was offering the human burrito a few years ago. Made a lot of people sick.

Jimmy is this really going on under your watch, but yet you don't know anyhting. Boy that tells you a lot about his leadership style. I'll stick my head in the same and no one will know the difference.
