SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - A drug-resistant strain of potentially deadly bacteria has moved beyond the borders of U.S. hospitals and is being transmitted among gay men during sex, researchers said on Monday.
They said methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA, is beginning to appear outside hospitals in San Francisco, Boston, New York and Los Angeles.
Sexually active gay men in San Francisco are 13 times more likely to be infected than their heterosexual neighbors, the researchers reported in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
"Once this reaches the general population, it will be truly unstoppable," said Binh Diep, a researcher at the University of California, San Francisco who led the study. "That's why we're trying to spread the message of prevention."
According to chemical analyses, bacteria are spreading among the gay communities of San Francisco and Boston, the researchers said.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Like HIV, once enough Heterosexuals are infected, the initial method of transfer will be forgotten and anyone who mentions it will be accused of discrimination. I have no problem with your lifestyle choice, but please practice it safely.

It's not a gay disease, you have the greatest chance of contracting it if you visit a hospital. This is yet another instance of the media preying on people's fears and inciting prejudice. Wash your hands and don't touch your face and you'll be OK.

There are parts of your body where staph lives naturally, I know that your nose is one of them.
My assumption would be that this is spreading faster in the gay male community because of the nature of their sexual activity, since that activity revolves around another part of the body that naturally harbors the staph germ.
If someone were to make an argument for a "Homosexual disease" That disease would have to attack only homosexuals...
and in order to make that jump one would have to admit that homosexuality is caused by a gene or set of genes that allows for the disease to occur in gay people and not in straight people.
sorry about your theory.

Yeah, and that was amusing in a way.
I'd just try to be more careful about hurting peoples' feelings, although I admit that yours was not such a mean-spirited comment.
What a crazy world we live in.

Just because I disagree with the GAY way of life, doesn't make one GAY. But you being a DEM does make you a GAY LOVER.

So tell me - what is the "GAY way of life?" And if you're not gay, what difference does it make to you?

I believe he was refering to the actual sex part.
Just as being opposed to ball gags doesnt make you a closet masochist.
I once had a gay man tell me that vaginas made him wanna puke... but that doesnt make him a closet straight guy.

I guess if you're straight, don't have gay sex and you should be okay. Unless, of course, you have to go into a hospital...

I believe he was refering to the actual sex part.
But if he's never had sex with a gay guy, how would he know what goes on? And if he's straight, why would he even think about what two guys might do?
It boggles the mind to think that there are straight guys out there thinking about gay sex and getting upset about it.
I mean... I don't get upset or think about heterosexual sex. I have my hands full (literally) at home without worrying about what other people are doing...

Does being gay have to be a part of every post you make. We know you are gay. You love men. You have chosen a lifestyle that is immoral and totally opposite of the way humans are created. It is nothing to brag about. One more time, we know you ARE gay.

Of course it does. How else would I be able to annoy you so?
And you do know that straight people create gay people, don't you? We can't reproduce.

You don't annoy me, you repulse me. And, no normal (straight) people do not produce homosexuals. That is a choice that is made by that you. No you can't reproduce which should be a sign of that chosen lifestyle is not how God created people.

Oooh, good.. Repulse is so much better than annoy, anyway! Maybe I could market a new cologne... "Repulse de HeeHee" I'd make it smell all manly and lockerroom... In a penis-shaped spritzer bottle... In assorted colors, of course...
And I think most things are beyond you. Like... if our parents were straight, they produced us. Ergo, Straight people produce homosexuals.
Think about it - but not too hard.

Do you really feel that children are a burden? There are a lot of children out there that need a good home. Have Victor and yourself considered adoption? I have a lot more questions, is there a blog where you have discussed more of your life experiences? I'm curious about your military experience and the emotions you felt in that situation as a gay man. I don't want to prod into the traumatic experiences. I went to your website, but didn't see these types of answers. If it's asking too much, just ignore this comment.

Like ......parents produce straight children, some form of tragic event be it a "large or small thing" (HeeHee) (depending on your mental capabilities) happens to you that causes you to stray away from the normal way that God created us and choose to be a "homersexual" (HeeHee). It could be being picked on by the cool kids or maybe you were a touch feminine acting and people made fun of that, it would take a "head" doctor (HeeHee) to help you figure that out, or you may know what caused you to CHOOSE that route, but don't blame your parents unless they abused you in one way or other. It was your decision and never to late to get professional help and "come" (HeeHee) back to the natural side.
