Did you read about Jim Brossard in Reno, Nevada who cut the American flag down and said right there on camera that he is ready to fight? If not you should check the video out, his anger and patriotism is very visible in the clip. He pulls out a kay-bar knife and cuts the rope. The Hispanic owner of the business is standing there and he is stunned speechless. Jim should have stunned him even more with an uppercut to the chin as he walked by. The Hispanic business owners response afterwards was that he was trying to show solidarity to the Hispanic people by flying the Mexican flag above the American flag. Well, I say to him that if he wants to show solidarity to the Hispanic people then maybe he should move his ass and business to <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Mexico</st1:place></st1:country-region> where he can fly his flag all he wants without interruption. Except that very few Mexicans will see the flag there because most of them are here. This is a prime example of how much angrier the American people are getting. I am just waiting for Jim to be arrested for taking down that flag. It will probably happen also. And when it does the anger is going to ramp up another notch.
My anger is almost as palpable as Jim Brossard’s is. Read on and you will find out exactly why. I drove almost two hundred miles today looking for work. Everywhere I went it is the same, mostly Hispanics hard at work and only a few Americans at the job sites. In northeast <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Columbia</st1:place></st1:City> I drove slowly through a huge luxury apartment complex they are building on <st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Spears Creek Road</st1:address></st1:Street>. As I drove through it I count 80 Hispanics and 9 Americans working outside the buildings. That is ten to one odds. If I had stopped and went inside every building there I would have counted between three and four hundred Hispanics and maybe fifty Americans. And here I am, going broke, cannot find any work to speak of, and here are four hundred criminals that have invaded my country and state and are stealing most of the work. And when I complain about it I am called names and am told that maybe I should develop a better work ethic. NO! My work ethic is fine, my problem is that a bunch of criminals are displacing my business and thousands of others by their greedy actions.
I am asking everybody that reads this to call this company with me and condemn their actions while hundreds of small American businessmen in <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Columbia</st1:place></st1:City> are having a hard time finding any work whatever. It is disgusting that so many companies employing illegal Hispanics can find work so easy and we are completely pushed to the wayside. I want your help to bring this company’s criminal actions to the public. There are literally thousands of Americans here that want that work but cannot get it because of their actions. The company’s representatives will tell you that they can’t control who their subcontractor’s employ but that is bullcrap because they own the property.
The name of the company is Carolina Multifamily Construction, Inc (CMC). Address-1050 Eagles Landing Parkway, Suite 300, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. Office telephone-770-474-4345, fax-770-474-5213. The on site superintendent’s name is Billy Cook, cell-678-249-5769, his Nextel #- 155*1027*653. The company managing the rental of these apartments is Davis Development, 803-667-4391 and 888-247-3041. If there is any way possible I would like to see this company flooded with calls from Americans and condemned for their criminal actions. Thank you. Lone Protester

I am sorry for your position but I find it a bit difficult to maintain my sympathy when you say things like the quote above. How do you know there were 400 criminals and how do you know they were all illegals?

Good luck with finding work.

OK, folks. Party's over. Back to the subject at hand.

Oklahoma is doing what I have been saying all along is the only way to deal with illegal immigration. I'll be wqatching to see what the results are.

Oklahoma targets illegal immigrants with tough new law

"The law went into effect Thursday and is intended to make life difficult for illegal immigrants in Oklahoma.
Its authors say they're sending a very clear message: If you're an illegal immigrant, you are not welcome.
"I'm convinced illegal aliens will not come to Oklahoma, or any other state, if there are no jobs waiting for them." said state Rep. Randy Terrill, a Republican and the law's author."

I bet there won't be any big protest by illegal immigrants in OK.

As quoted from the previously mentioned article: "The new law restricts the ability of illegal immigrants (http://topics.cnn.com/topics/immigration) to obtain government IDs or public assistance. It also gives police authority to check the immigration status of anyone arrested, which can lead to deportations.
It doesn't stop at illegal immigrants. The law also makes it a felony for U.S. citizens to knowingly provide shelter, transportation or employment to illegal immigrants."

Now if we could just get something like this here in SC.

Careful what you ask for, Voice. I have said from day one that the illegals are here to work, and if the work is not available, they will move on.

Along with watching the number of illegals in Oklahoma, we also need to keep an eye on the impact on the cost of goods and services when they are denied work and leave. Their legal replacements are going to cost more to hire, and the economy is wrapped up in the costs that have to be passed on by the providers.

My bet is, the new law may deal with one political problem, but it will also be a very expensive experiment for the legal citizens who will have to bear the inflation.

There was a Chinese curse that said, "May you live in interesting times". This will be interesting.

But remember what we learned in somebody's post here a while back: According to the federal law if a job applicant gives the employer a document that looks fake, the employer cannot question its authenticity. Am I recalling this right?

It's crazy. The whole thing is crazy. Somebody was saying on the news last night, If you don't or can't control your borders are you really even a country anymore? This is not a simple problem.

But the Cue-man is absolutely right that it could have a huge negative economic impact in some ways if they left. Again I urge interested folks to go rent the movie "A Day Without a Mexican". It's a comedy but it has a lot of actual true facts about the effects of Mexicans on California. Might open some eyes. And it in no way is related to the absolute nutty policies of the federal government.

It is time that we real americans take our rights back. After all, we were born with them. Illegal means illegal they should have no rights what so ever. We are wasting money teaching these illegal children to learn english, so they can teach their illegal parents to speak english so they can do work that the Americans "can not or will not do". Well if Americans will not do these things then take them off welfare and make them work or starve.

In Saluda County,S.C., right across the river about 30 miles from Columbia, there are chicken-raising facilities by the hundred, and processing plants all over the midlands.

The owners employ immigrants indiscriminately to work in them. You can get a fake SS card and picture ID for a hundred bucks or so, and that will get you on the payroll. I don't recall an investigation there, much less a bust.

I am certain that a lot of the immigrants who work there are illegal. But if you rounded them all up and sent them home in the morning, we would probably have three or four dollar a pound chicken in the grocery stores in a couple of weeks if any made it there at all. Who want to work in a 40 degree processing plant all day for a subsistance wage? Do you? Can you afford three hundred dollars a week for groceries? I can't.

That is the other edge of the sword. If they leave, who wants the jobs they are doing?

Give them to people currently on welfare? How do you propose to get them back and forth to work and home? What will you do about child care for the children involved?

There are no simple answers to this question, and bumper sticker slogans and sound bites won't provide any solutions.

If the disabled vet is suggesting that we do not extend what the world knows as "human rights" to everyone, and would indeed be content to see people starve, then I suggest that he is not one of ours because we are just better than that. That is what honorable men and women sacrifice to defend.

He must surely be ashamed of himself, as he has shamed all vets by his words, and I doubt that we'll be hearing from him again.

If Mr. Vet is proposing to change the Constitution by "...taking our rights back" , he should say so.

But he should read it first. ANYONE within the borders of this country, regardless of where they came from or how they got here, has rights granted to them.

This is one of the things that makes us Americans. The way you treat people tells the world what you are made of.

"...Unto the least of these", I think is how the best commentary goes that I ever read on the subject.
