I know that his wife came down there and cussed out the girl...she also kicked him out for a night. The girl has since quit to keep them both from losing their jobs. She is married also, had the cops pick her husband up for domestic violence, since she quit.

Not a thing but I have heard Chris Garner is leaving the Sheriff's Department to work in Swansea for Chief Spence. I guess everything isn't as rosy at the Sheriff's Dept. as he thought it would be when he came back! OR, he is going to take over the #2 position in Swansea?

Yeah, I heard he was going down there, don't know about the Asst postion. I wouldn't think they would hire him over the other 2 that have been down there for a while now.
I did hear that Cliff was thinking about leaving, but I doubt it. He has it good down there, he got no punishment for the episode with Jammie. Maybe nobody down there in authority has the balls to do anything!

Not to add to the rumor mill, but I understand that Garner maybe supporting Harrison and hence the leave and with him making the $$$ at the Sheriff's Dept., I can't imagine him not going somewhere he could get close to the pay. We were under the impression Spence ran a tight Dept. even though you never hear much about them?

Spence COULD run a tight dept if he would speak up about stuff that is done wrong however when you are worried about hurting someone's feelings that don't happen. Everybody seems to do their own thing, coming from a citizen's stand point. We never see him except with the mayor...

Who is Mel? The only thing I have heard is that Garner was trying to get promoted back to the position he had before he went to the Court House and James won't do it. So he threatened to leave and he is going to have to go through with it. :o

It appears that you and I realize it and I know Harrison has a tremendous amount of respect for Seboe but it appears that Metts has allowed James to label Seboe a Non-Team Player. My take on it is that James doesn't want Seboe around because he isn't a "yes-man" or Seboe is just trying to make it to retirement because of the way the Dept. has become. Heck, for all I know Seboe may even support Harrison's run. Regardless, Metts and James have dumped on the long time loyal employees. :oops:

Yeah Gardner is going to be over training and administration. I don't know what kind of money he is going to be making but I assume it will be nice. :!: Who knows where the town is getting the money to pay all of it's employees, after seeing that they were using their reserve money.

Yeah I have met his wife... He has already checked in to see how much child support will cost... sounds intersting! There is only 2 deputy's down there that actually do any work...maybe they have more important things to do than worry about cheating on their wives (if they have any)
Garner is going to do some butt kicking down there, I think it will do the town some good. At least they got rid of the females in the office, maybe they can all get some work done instead of sitting in the office all the time.
I heard the girl, Jammie, was trying to get her husband off of the CDV charge...she is using her contacts that she made while working in swansea to try and get him off. He was working PT for central as the fire dispacher and he got fired as soon as the charge came up on him.
Maybe the town can get something down to stop some crime there.

Bill0105, I don't know who Prill is? What District does he work? I haven't talked with anyone from the County in a few weeks, so I couldn't say who else is being pushed to the side. From what I have heard the place is just a mess and everyone is scared to death to do anything for fear of being fired, though a bunch are fixing to leave. I did hear that someone that just left was talking to the media and had some proof of what is going on. Guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Scott Prill is a great administrator and worth every dime they pay him. He is responsible for most of the progressive innovations in the department. He is loyal to the sheriff, as all in the department should be, and his loss would make some of the chiefs, who have lived off Prills work, look bad. That group does not include Jimmy.

This election is not a referendum on Prill or James. This election is to determine whether or not our present crotch grabbing sheriff will keep his job. As far as Sgt Finch's check goes, there were two zeros, not that it's any of "LORD OF THE ******S" business... I mean let's talk about the real issue here. Why don't motor mouths like YOU, have the guts to put your real name on the screen... hmmm lets see... could it be because you lack what most MEN call balls?
Sounds like you might be a LCSD reject... which is probably a good thing (don't fret, Richland County will hire you).

The bottom line is this... The LCSD is now, and has been, run by Sheriff Metts probably before, or close to, you being born. The man has proven himself by literally building the damn department from nothing, you IDIOT. His Deputies have probably protected you, your family and your property for quite some time, as I'm sure (unfortunately) you live in Lexington County.
Oh, and just in case you are a Deputy of LCSD (and god I hope not), her's a little advice...

I find this entire website to be UNBELIEVABLE!. All the comments back and forth are childish and immature. How many zeros in a person's check? I know most of the deputies in Lexington County and I don't think a lot of them are in a postion to write multiple zeros in a check. I have read most of the sections on this site with all the responses. One person wrote that this website should stand for some type of poll showing 35,000 hits as a measure of support for Harrison. Everytime someone logs on, it counts on the meter. How many people are repeats? How many people are Metts supporters looking for entertainment? The comedic affect of this website is very humorous and truly shows the ignorance of people. I would understand if these comments had any validity. However, truths just do not exist. These comments (throughout this website) are slanderous attempts to defame Sheriff Metts and others in the Sheriff's Department. By the way, the Department is the Sheriff's. The citizens elect Metts to represent them and Metts hires deputies to represent him. That is why it is called " the Sheriff's Department". If the truth be known. Metts has done an outstanding job in Lexington County through leadership and innovation. I am personally involved in several community programs initiated by the Sheriff and our groups support Sheriff Metts fully. Our Resident Deputy is the best I have ever encountered. He is attentive to our needs and problems. He often goes above and beyond to serve the citizens of the area and, I am sure his actions and dedication are representative of Sheriff Metts. I am certain that problems are present within the organization but, aren't they everywhere?

I do have absolute knowledge about one thing which everyone has commented about, June 8. The day of the Republican Primary. Larry Harrison will see that his misguided attempts to be the Sheriff of Lexington County was and will always be a waste of time and money. If they say they have, then put a case number up, put dates, times, officers, involved, etc., so that we all can see what happened. If you got fired or asked to resign, please follow through with all these law suits I keep hearing about. Where did they go? I am in the patrol division and have been for a while. I don't get much involved in politics either. I will say this: I come to this website cause it is funny. I bet most of the people that come here are here only for a good laugh. I have been at lexington s.o. for about ten years after serving in the military and have found the s.o to be a pretty good organization. We really do get the job done out there with limited resources. I know Larry and he is a good man and one day he might be sheriff of this deparment.

Most of the employees here are great people that do a good job. I see people writing about Finch, Driggers, and Prill. ALot of people may disagree with them but thats cause they are not "yes men" and when you are not a yes man you get things done and usually piss someone off. Prill has been here for a while and has went up the chain fast but it aint cause he has a masters degree its because he works hard. there are other people here with masters degrees that dont move up. You see, the deputies know which cars are at the office on days, nights, weekends, and holidays. he is there all the time and has been since he got here. much of what the deputies have is because he has fought for it. Finally the brass is not getting all the new equipment. I feel prill (and some others) look out for us and not politics.

Many of the so called"brass" are good people but there are dead weights there just like there are at every rank. and just like there is in every business and the military. I don't know why people on here talk about the employees. that is just going to go against anyone trying to run for sheriff. The next sheriff should not tear down what has been created, they should build on what has been done. just my input.

Finally some wisdom, and dare I say truth coming out of this board. Like most people at the Sheriff's Department I read this site for humour, but I get a little concerned for the one or two citizens that might actually read this site for information. So hopefully this will help clear things up for some citizens - since Harrison supporters don't mind being in the dark then they can skip over what I am about to say.

First the budget. Some quick notes. County council approves the Sheriff's Department budget, approves any purchase by the department over $5,000, and has good bit of oversight. I don't know how much more oversight is needed. A lot has been said about the budget increase but I will again summarize what has already been noted - more school resources officers, housing of more prisoners, some new cars (for deputies and investigators) increase cost of gas, increase cost of insurance, etc etc etc. Can money be save? sure! Can a lot of money be saved - no and if Larry chooses to give a large amount of money back at the end of the year to county council - do you think county council will give the money back to us? NO. So Larry maybe you should think about helping the people that would work for you instead of turning your back on them and giving needed money back to county council so they can fix the new court house - speaking of ----

The new courthouse and needed deputies. Since the inception of the new court house many people behind the scenes at the sheriff's department told many that additional deputies would be needed. However, the price tag needed to stay at a certain level so many people didn't want to hear input from the sheriff's department until it was to late. Also - the people that run the courthouse changed their mind at the last minute about scheduling which impacted the staffing at the courthouse by the sheriff's department. Since most of you only know what you read in the papers, you have unfortuntley chosen to point the finger in the wrong direction on this one.

The sheriff's department - and morale. I work at the sheriff's department everyday and believe it or not, most people enjoy working there and working for the sheriff James Metts. Are there some that don't want to be there, Yes. But that is a small percentage and these people do not dictate the espirit de corpe of the department. The funny thing is, this site has done more for bringing together the people at the department against Harrison. At the sheriff's department, most people have a good laugh or two, usually three about what is posted here. This site is a good reminder that if we give in to disgruntled ex-employees (I am referring to other people besides Harrison) whose careers were based on rumours and the politics of personal destruction, then we will get a sheriff's department that has only talk and no substance like this site. Keep the laughs coming because really after every post your lies keep us focused on what is really important.

Employee bashing - It one thing to go after the Chief (Tim James) or the Sheriff - but I would leave good officers and employees like Prill, Driggers, Finch and others alone. These employees are good, hardworking people. If you used to work for them, you shouldn't attack them because of your own faults and shortcomings. Basically - it is these employees that help run the department and have pushed for many of good things that the deputies recieve. Larry says he won't replace everyome at the department, but him and his supporters are showing through this website that they hate it when the sheriff's department does good things and hate even more the employees responsible for it and especially the leadership that promotes and encourages success and change.

Accreditation. Wow have the Harrsion supporters missed the boat on this one. Cost - around $14,000 every three years 5,000 per year (estimate). Accreditation is seen by the sheriff and the department as a tool instead of a trophy. It is not a magic bullet that once you get it then eveything is great. Departments that choose to use this tool, and use it well find the benefits. Some departments are accreditated, but ignore the purpose and advantages of this certification. The Lexington County Sheriff's Department uses this tool for improvement, to receive independent input, and enhance law enforcement services. My question for larry is what is he affraid of - the cost is relatively low - for this outside audit, why not - Maybe he is afraid that his house of cards would collapse under critical review.

I am sure you guys will give me more to write/right about in the future, however just remember this. Discussing ideas is good - and honest and truthful discussion is even better, but misinformed and destructive lies make you seem small and uneducated. When you regroup after your lose, I would discuss how this site helped Metts and hurt Harrison. You are right, time is ticking away and on June 8 you will have to discuss how you hate the sheriff's department, hate various employees, hate any reduction in crime, and hate increase in benefits for hardworking employees - by yourselves - because we will forget about you and go back to work under the leadership of James Metts. My problem with Jimmy is that he feels that he can do whatever he wants and there is nothing anyone can do about it (untouchable) He forgets he works for us, the citizens. It is our money he uses as he wants. There is no accountability.

As for Harrison, we'll have to wait and see on June 8th. If Jimmy wins, then we know I was wrong and Jimmy is more popular than I thought. If Jimmy looses, then we'll know that Jimmy is not as untouchable as everyone thought. One thing is absolutely true. This is the 1st time in 30 years we have had someone who the people saw as a better alternative to Jimmy. For the first time, someone is ACTUALLY trying. Again IF Jimmy looses, a lot of questions will be asked, what if someone had really tried earlier, would Jimmy have been sheriff this long. I find this most interesting. 30 years of having no choice, then when there is a choise, Jimmy is NOT elected. Interesting IF it happens.

First, Accreditation does not require that you attend a conference (except for maybe the conference when you get the certification) So technically, if you have a problem with sheriff's dept people attending a conference, then blame and shift focus to money allocated for travel and conferences - not accreditation. I will give you an example of your fallacy in thinking. If Larry Harrison attended a conference on drugs - drug prevention, would you say that he has a drug problem or that Richland County spends too much money on illegal drugs - NO. So don't blame accreditation for money (however much) spent on travel.

Second - Obviously you have some time to do research. Why don't you compare the budget of the Lex CO SD and Detention Center with similiar other orginizations in the state. You will find the Lexington County is comparable. Just because there was a few years of catch up - after years of neglect doesn't mean that spending is out of control. Let me give you an example - if the murder rate in Richland County went from 1 murder to 2 murders - that would be a 100% increase. But only two murders would be considered a fantastic achievement, but wait what about the 100% increase, you probably would say that Lott should be fired and Harrison promoted or something.

Third - Clearly you have trouble sticking to the facts or even reality, so you drift into fantasy land where you make up people. VBM or whatever? fine bring all that out (whatever it is). Why keep these great secrets if it is going to destroy the Metts campaign? Time is really short, so lets hear it. By the way, the sheriff doesn't read this website, so if you are trying to make him nervous, you better give him a call and let him know.
