I don't think God would appreciate the nasty comments I've made, so I'd like to do the Christian thing and apologize. I hope you'll forgive me. You guys all do a great job out there, and you're right, you're underpaid and underappreciated, but yet people always expect you to come running when they call, myself included. No pop shots here. I know it is easy to get very negative on this site. Thanks for letting us know about your change of heart. Every department has a bad apple, some have quite a few, but don't judge all police officers based on one or two's behavior. There are some very good officers in this county that truly care about their job and the citizens.

I think alot of the negativity on this site has to do with being stopped for no reason and then questioned half to death. I was stopped for alledgedly not using a turn signal. I would love to know how the officer could tell whether or not I used a turn signal when he was not in a position to see my turn signals from the front or the back. After I was stopped and my plate and license supposedly ran, I was then questioned about where I had been and where I was going! Like that was any of his business. I'm a female, and it made me very uncomfortable. I answered his questions because he IS a police officer. I later found out that I didn't have to answer his questions and he was out of line by asking me those questions. But what do you do when you're up against someone with a badge? He could have created any charge he wanted at that point. Oh.... by the way.....after all the questioning.......I was not given a ticket. :wtf: Maybe this is their way of meeting women!

Swansea PD is one of the best. It is the only PD in the most southern part of Lexington County with a full-time Department. Pelion and Gaston don't have 24-7 coverage. They are way behind what Swansea has accomplished. Of course it takes good employees and good leadership to get there. THey also have the town leaders behind them 100%. They should be an example to small town departments in the area.

When I worked with the Air Force, we called mopeds DUImobiles. Mopeds, bikes and Reeboks were the only way you were getting on base after a DUI conviction. I was amazed at how many drunks worked there.

Thats because the younger, skinner officer got tied up in some briars that Flip Flop man inadvertantley threw at him! Yeah, to the guy who let the janky yellow moped get away...its alright..it happens! Just like how you sometimes forget to turn your radio on and make people freak out! LoL ;)
