Gibbons has sold out to Jiffy Lube? Will we have a new mayor soon?

We're not talking the gibbons on their island at the zoo, are we?

Dammit...I thought this thread was about monkeys!

I wouldn't take a gibbon to Jiffy Lube.

Maybe to Grease Monkey.

Yeah I gave them a try and they wanted to sell me an air filter for my brand new car with 5k on it. Gibbon wouldn't have even opened the container with the air filter inside due to the low mileage. Other than that they did a good job draining and refilling my oil.

I went to what I thought was Gibbons the other day at lunch for an oil change. I had no idea anything was different until I saw the computer monitor on the desk. I knew mrs Gibbons wouldn't have had that. Long story short, 45 min later, and $60.00 less, I was out of there, and I'll never go back. What a shame.

I didn't realize that a monkey could change the oil in a car

That's why they carry the little tin cups - to catch the oil when it comes out.

Not monkeys, guys. Gibbons are apes, like us.

They are not great apes, like us, chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans, but they are part of the next larger group.

So let's treat them like family.

If they are not great apes, I hope they are at least pretty good apes.

They weren't the ones that Adam trained to kill the dinosaurs in the Garden of Eden, were they?

Oh they are fine apes, just not among the greats.

The ones trained to kill are the now extinct species (except for possibly one individual) called Pan patrobertsonius, sometimes known as the anti-ape. They were actually pretty good at surviving in the wild except that they were so irritating that all of the other animals did them in at every opportunity. The last one recorded in history was dispatched after attacking an Iron-Age Palestinian preacher around the year AD 25.

It is hoped that the one possible living example is a rare mistake of nature.

I know the ones you are talking about, now. That's the one known as the "Dodo Ape" that conclusively proves the theory of Devolution. I personally hope that the one you mention is indeed the last of its species and will soon disappear to be seen no more.

Not a minute too soon, either.
