:D I'D LIKE TO START A PAGE THAT CAN FOCOUS SOULY ON POSSITIVE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF OUR FELLOW BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN PUBLIC SAFTEY. SO PLEASE POST ONLY POSSITIVE NOTES AND KEEP THE TRASH ELSEWHERE. PLAESE ALSO REMEMBER THAT GOOD JOBS (IN EMS) SHOULD BE RECOGNISED BY THE WHOLE SERVICE AND AN OFFICIAL "EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION FORM" SHOULD ACCOMPANY THESE POSTS.
FIRST POST:
I WAS RECENTLY INFORMED OF A CALL WHERE ROLDAN AND TIMMONS RESPONDED TO A PEDIATRIC PAITENT IN CARDIAC ARREST AND SUCESSFULLY RECUSITATED THIS PATIENT. JOSH PARSONS AND HIS PARTNER(I FORGOT WHO IT WAS-SORRY) WERE ALSO INVOLVED IN THIS CALL. GREAT JOB GUYS. KEEP UP THE GOOD (TEAM) WORK :!: ALSO, I'D LIKE TO WISH TIMMONS AND ROLDAN (AND THE REST OF THE PARAMEDIC STUDENTS) GOOD LUCK IN THIER UPCOMMING JOURNEYS INTO THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF PARAMEDICNE. :D [color=red]

I would just like to take a minute to thank the dispatchers that were on
shift last night 6/12/04 when the storms came through. There were alot of
calls going on and they did great job keeping up with all of them. I was
on duty last night and the fire console was extremly busy. Through all
the comotion on the radio from alarms to the working church fire we had
they kept there cool and was very patiant with everyone. And they still
managed to keep up with all the units that were out and the units that
were still needed at places. They also managed to give really good
call information through out the storm. You made the busy night alot
less stressful by staying calm with us and I just wanted to say thanks.. :D

thanks for the atta girl scott.....just to take a min to brag on my shift, I know everyone loves the ones they work with, but I have to say that Blue nights got some of the REAL good medics and Intermediates, the kind that make you remember why we do this crazy job! The kind that show you how to care about patients and would rather see their EMT's learn and grow instead of just watching them mop out the trucks and drive. I love you all, especially the ones who have stuck up for me during the tough stuff. EVEN YOU SEGROVES(cause when it comes to being a paramedic, you really are awesome)! :D Thanks to all my shift for an unforgettable year at lex co!

Hey "Yo Daddy"... Tim was right...
AMR and Gold Cross started covering areas this wekend. I think Gold Cross was at Cayce and unit 7 was moved to Round Hill FD and AMR was at Oak Grove FD and unit 11 was sent to Pine Grove. Am I right Tim? We had 16 trucks on the road this Saturday including the 2 private service trucks and B-L Rescue transported a few also. Talk about 911 coverage!
Hope everyone had a great 4th! :D

as a tax payer i would like to know if we have a lexington county ems or a private ems or what! if the county can't pay for or retain its current ems staff and can't hire qualified ems staff, when do we the tax payers get our money back. once again if our government is going to tax us and require us to pay for services THAT IT APPEARS they can't provide at a proper staffing level then maybe A PRIVATE SERVICE IS BEST.

First off this is a Bragging Board...remember negitive stuff goes elsewhere. Second off, the county on a normal day runs 13-14 trucks with pretty good coverage area and response times. If there is a special event or busy weekend or whatever...the privates services are in agreement WITH the county to help us cover areas as needed. They operate just as county EMS does with all the same rules and regulations. Just like a county service. They ARE part of the county when this happens. We address them on county radios, with county numbers and they are dispatched by our county dispatchers. I think as a tax payer I would be glad to know that if I live in Cayce and the Cayce truck is on another call transporting someone to Providence, that I don't have to wait an additional 12 minutes for a unit to come from South Congaree or Lexington, or wait until that Cayce unit is clear from it's original call. We can only put so many trucks in the same place at one time and places like Cayce often (believe it or not) and many times get more that 1 call at a time.

Hey Guys this is Toby,
I would like to send out a special thanks to everyone that helped out at the Lexington County Peach Festival this weekend. This was one of the best years we have had and every one worked great together. The Operations center that was set up at Gilbert Fire Department made the radio traffic alot lighter and everyone knew what was going on at all times.
Again i would like to thank everyone from EMS, BL Rescue, Fire Service, to SO.
Hope to have everyone back next year

As most of you know we have some new PARAMEDIC'S in the Midlands region of South Carolina. I am very proud of the 96% pass rate for this paramedic class and I am sure that it will soon be increased to 100%. Thanks to all of the students for putting in so many long hours, and also to the people who helped them when they needed it.

Let's not forget the fine folks that helped us pass that paramedic exam...
Those who came in on their days off to drill us
Plant, Labbe, Chavis, Hall, Raymond, Nolff, Padgett & Seagroves come to mind from Lexington county.
And, to those of you who precepted us on the trucks for so many hours. Also, all the nurses & staff at the hospitals. So many people- you know who you are.
While the certificate will bear my name on it, there are many that stood behind me to make it a reality. I can't thank you all enough for your time, hard work and dedication. You really set an example for what teamwork should be all about.

HIPPA only gets riled up if the patient's name or other personal information is mentioned.
Since this is a braggin board let me tell ya that Tim Spires and his
wonderful new wife (congratulations again guys) are a credit to Lexington
County EMS. I have known Tim for years and he is so calm in dealing with whatever situation is thrown his way. I've seen him dealing with children many times as he worked almost every softball tournament Pine Grove had. I would get shaken up if I saw a child hurt. Tim is a true professional and gets the job done. I've heard through others that his wife is just as great as he is. Their children are very lucky. They have two parents who know exactly what to do in every medical emergency.
We need more like them in Lexington County!!!!

Dispatch does do a great job. But, the congrats was about the paramedic students- which dispatch didn't get really involved in. So, that's why they weren't mentioned.
We DO appreciate what dispatch does- from calming the family before we get there, to giving CPR instructions, to, deciphering what the problem really is before we arrive (hard to do with a hysterical family member on the phone). We really do appreciate all that you do. We realize that your job isn't an easy one either. Thanks, y'all!

Just a note to congratulate everyone involved in the wreck on I-20 on Monday. I wasn't on one of the units that responded but just listening to the radio I was amazed at the way the call was handled. Everyone on that scene sounded so calm and collected. No one is ever ready for something like that and even with all of the chaos I think that you guys did a wonderful job. Great teamwork! :D

I meant to post this earlier seeing as how this thread is all touchy-feely now.
I wanted to thank EMS for their assistance in our departments annual CPR/First Aid training.
Tom for his continued support of all of our activities.
Patti for allowing me to borrow the training aids.
Stuart for attending on Thursday and allowing the use of personal equipment.
Mica for running the 2 stations on Thursday even though I introduced her using her maiden name.
Seagroves (sorry "James" seemed too generic) for his help running 2 stations on Tuesday AND Wednesday between working 2 night shifts!
This is one small example of how EMS and it's employees sacrifice for the betterment of other departments and the appreciation does not go unnoticed!
Thanks again for a job well done.

Big kudos to County Dispatch, especially the fire dispatcher on night shift 12/10 - 12/11. After observing a very dangerous, possibly impaired, driver all the way from the rest area on I26 in Newberry Co and calling both Newberry and Highway dispatch, it was the Lexington County Dispatch dispatchers who made the difference. We might have missed catching him at Chapin, but they got him in Irmo on I26. I'll add that the fire dispatcher took down the information I passed along while working a structural response on Sunset Blvd....and never missed a beat on the radio. Your professionalism impressed the coworker of mine who was in the truck while I was on the phone. Great job!

I JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU TO BOBBY WAMPLER / UNIT 4 FEBRUARY 27, 05. YOU WERE GREAT. I WAS SCARED TO DEATH AFTER THE LITTLE INCIDENT WITH MY 12 MONTH OLD SON. YOU WERE CARING AND KEPT HIM CALM WHEN I WAS A NERVOUS WRECK. I LIKED THE WAY YOU KEPT TALKING TO HIM AND TRYING TO MAKE THE THINGS YOU WERE DOING LESS SCARY FOR HIM. ALSO KUDOS FOR GETTING DOWN ON THE PATIENT'S LEVEL, IT REALLY MAKES A PERSON FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE IF YOU HAVE SOMEONE STANDING / HOVERING OVER THE TOP OF YOU. I JUST WANT TO LET EVERYONE KNOW OF THE GREAT JOB YOU DID, AND A SPECIAL THANKS ALSO TO KELLY OLIN (DISPATCH). WITHOUT YOUR HELP HEIFER, I COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT, I LOVE YOU GIRL (COUSIN K). YOU ALL DESERVE A BIG HAND. IT'S TOTALLY DIFFERENT WHEN YOU ARE THE ONE ON THE OTHER END OF THE PHONE NEEDING HELP, IT FEELS GREAT THAT OUR LEXINGTON COUNTY SAVIORS, LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER.
THANK YOU GUYS, TIFFANY :D
