1) When Irmo High School was only a 1 story building at its current location? I believe the 2nd story was added in 1978.

2) The Zippy Mart where Mathias Sandwich Shop now sits?

3) The old dirt trail that ran from the middle school past Zippy Mart on down to what was then Newberry Avenue?

4) When Barry Manilow performed at Irmo High School during the 1975-76 school year?

5) The cows that used to stand atop Bi-Lo?

6) The Village Pharmacy?

7) The asbestos removal at Irmo High School that delayed the start of the 1981-82 school year by a week?

8) The Irmo - Columbia football rivalry?

9) The skateboard park of the 1970's that used to be in the Seven Oaks Shopping Center?

10) When the lard a.s.s. Magistrate Epting could still see his feet?

X-11s?!? For real? I always liked those cars, especially the ones with the cowl induction hoods.

Mine had an induction vortex generator.

We'd go out for a ride on Satuday night and be back home the night before. This left a whole extra Saturday to do with as we pleased.

You forgot the General Store that sat where Blockbuster is now, and the old post office at the corner of St. Andrews and Fork.

I'm still convinced that it was arson that hit the generaL store. I wish someone had some good photos of the place.

I haven't been in Irmo long enough for some of the things mentioned, but I do remember when there was no subsidized housing, and people took pride in the upkeep of property, and you were not afraid to go for a midnite stroll.
