That was it. Didn't become the Ancient Irmese until Gene McKay started calling it that. How about Derrick's store that used to be across the street from the furniture store?

Remember them well. Also remember when Irmo had only one traffic light and one police car. AHHH the good ol days.

I remember that store! Seems like there was a derelict truck beside it, but I'm no swearing to that. My cousin lived over there in the mid seventies, and it was like riding to the sticks to go over there.

Now its wall to wall crap.

I just posted about that place in another thread. I'm with you. I loved walking there to buy candy. Very, very sad when it burned down.
